Some fashion moments emphasize volume, while others focus on precision. Rebecca Ferguson’s appearance at the recent Alexander McQueen show clearly falls into the latter category. New images from the event are circulating, showcasing the impressive tailoring of her outfit.

This occasion was particularly noteworthy for the brand. McQueen made its return to London Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2027 season with a show on September 20, marking creative director Seán McGirr’s debut presentation in London. It was also McQueen’s first appearance at London Fashion Week since Sarah Burton’s Spring/Summer 2023 show, after years of showcasing primarily in Paris. McGirr expressed to WWD that the city possesses “a uniquely visceral energy” that inspires the brand’s creative direction.

Now, the photos are creating quite a buzz. Fashion account Cinethology shared a striking portrait of Ferguson in her McQueen ensemble on Thursday, praising her stunning appearance at the show. The image captures her in a black leather jacket, a black mini skirt, and lace tights, set against an ivy-covered stone backdrop.

The standout piece of her outfit was undoubtedly the jacket. As noted by CelebMafia, it features a high funnel neckline, pronounced shoulders, and curved panel seams throughout the torso, complete with two silver-toned fastenings near the cropped hem. This design accentuates the shoulders while cinching the waist, creating a corseted, architectural silhouette despite the heavy leather material.

Underneath the jacket, Ferguson paired it with a black mini skirt and sheer black floral lace tights, adding a softer, intricate texture to the sleek leather ensemble. She reportedly completed her look with black knee-high boots featuring squared toes, while her loosely textured blonde hair remained relaxed to balance the structured outfit. A small braid at the front of her hair introduced a delicate touch to her appearance.

The all-black color scheme aligns perfectly with the brand’s aesthetic. McQueen has long been celebrated for its sharp tailoring and dramatic proportions, and Ferguson’s outfit encapsulates these elements in a modern, stylish way.

The setting for the show was as dramatic as the fashion itself. The runway took place in the Undercroft of Lincoln’s Inn Chapel, a 17th-century underground space with gravestones underfoot. Guests were seated on simple benches as beams of light pierced the ceiling before the room plunged into darkness, followed by flashing strobes. 10 Magazine described the 46-look show as a homecoming in honor of the late Lee McQueen.

The collection emphasized tailoring and dramatic gowns, with a touch of menswear. McGirr collaborated with master jeweler Shaun Leane for precious-metal body adornments and worked with Huntsman on the men’s silhouettes. The designs featured sculptural angel-wing cuts in women’s tailoring and a convertible pump that reimagines the iconic Armadillo heel.

Ferguson was not alone in the front row. Emilia Clarke led a star-studded guest list that included Florence Welch and Alexa Chung, while younger names like Lila Moss, Georgia May Jagger, and Ellie Bamber were also present. Lola Tung and Sophie Thatcher made their London Fashion Week debuts, and Emma Corrin and Siouxsie Sioux were in attendance as well.

The diverse mix of generations created a gathering of English roses, as one publication noted. Ferguson’s striking leather look stood out amidst the more romantic dresses worn by others in the audience.

Fashion is just one aspect of Ferguson’s busy 2026. She starred in the AI thriller ‘Mercy’ alongside Chris Pratt, appeared in Netflix’s ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’, and portrayed the villainous Dame Snap in the fantasy adaptation ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’. Additionally, she reprised her role as Juliette Nichols in the third season of Apple TV’s ‘Silo’, which premiered on July 3.

Her next major release is ‘Dune: Part Three’, set to hit theaters on December 18. Ferguson has mentioned that her role as Lady Jessica consists of a single scene already featured in the trailer, yet her fashion moment proves she possesses a commanding screen presence.
