Florence Pugh’s Peach-Ruffle Look on ‘Good Morning America’ Ahead of ‘East of Eden’

A significant press tour often signals the arrival of a new show, and Florence Pugh has been making waves this week. After her appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on Monday, she is set to appear on ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ on Wednesday, with her fashion choices grabbing headlines throughout. Her latest outfit from ‘Good Morning America’ in New York City is turning heads.

This buzz surrounds Netflix’s ‘East of Eden’, a limited-series adaptation of John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel by Zoe Kazan. Pugh takes on the role of Cathy Ames, the story’s cunning antihero, and also serves as an executive producer. All seven episodes will be available starting October 1.

On September 29, Page Six shared images of Pugh arriving at ‘Good Morning America’. She donned a peach ruffled blouse with sheer, gathered sleeves, complemented by wide-leg white trousers. A small woven handbag with a white handle and dark sunglasses completed her look, with her wavy blonde hair flowing elegantly as she waved to fans.

Her appearance was a highlight of the Tuesday lineup, where she discussed the challenges of portraying one of literature’s most complex characters. Pugh also shared her thoughts on her ideal dinner party guests.

The ruffled ensemble was a softer choice for a character known for her ruthlessness. Cathy Ames is a manipulative figure in Steinbeck’s narrative, and the trailer depicts her in intense situations.

The peach blouse is just one of many striking outfits Pugh has showcased. On Monday, she wowed audiences on ‘The Tonight Show’ in a black off-the-shoulder mini dress paired with strappy platform heels and a delicate choker. She also turned heads in a cream lace micro minidress from Chloé’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection during her NYC outings.

Earlier in her promotional tour, she attended the ‘East of Eden’ panel at The Atlantic Festival in New York on September 18, wearing a dark gray Shushu/Tong dress with a broad white collar and Vivienne Westwood platforms. At a photocall in London, she opted for an archival Rodarte piece featuring ivory pleating.

‘East of Eden’ represents a bold move for Netflix, chronicling decades in the lives of Cathy and the Trask family, framed by the American Civil War and World War I. Pugh leads a talented cast that includes Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Joseph Zada, Joe Anders, Tracy Letts, Ciarán Hinds, and Martha Plimpton.

Filming took place in New Zealand, with Garth Davis and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre sharing directing responsibilities. Kazan’s connection to the story is personal, as her grandfather Elia Kazan directed the iconic 1955 film adaptation. Kazan praised Pugh’s remarkable presence on screen, stating, “Her awareness of the camera is unparalleled.”

As awards season approaches, early buzz suggests that the series could be a contender for the Golden Globes and SAG Awards, marking this press tour as the beginning of a longer campaign.

Pugh has more projects lined up following ‘East of Eden’. ‘Dune: Part Three’ is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, where she reprises her role as Princess Irulan under the direction of Denis Villeneuve.

For now, all eyes are on Steinbeck’s antihero and the fashion choices that accompany the promotional tour. If her peach-and-white outfit is any indication, fans can expect many more stunning looks before the series premieres on Thursday.
