‘General Hospital’ Season 64 Episode 18 Release Date, Time and Where to Watch Sonny’s Heartbreak

Port Charles continues to keep fans on their toes, and the end of this week promises no respite for ‘General Hospital’. Early in the week, Sonny receives an unexpected offer, but by Friday, he finds himself devastated.

If you’re eager to know when the latest episode of ‘General Hospital’ will air, what time to tune in, and how to stream it if you miss the live broadcast, this guide has you covered. Here’s everything you need to know as the week comes to a close.

New episodes of the soap air Monday through Friday, and one tracker has calculated that the latest installment will drop on Wednesday, September 30. Following that, the next episode is set for Friday, October 2, which is when spoiler outlets indicate Sonny will face a heartbreaking moment.

For casual viewers, the episode numbering can be confusing. ABC treats the show as a continuous series with increasing episode numbers, while The Movie Database resets its count annually. This means that the same broadcast day might have a different season label depending on the source.

One spoiler site tracking the network’s continuous count lists Friday, October 2 as episode number 16058. Regardless of the episode label, the air date is what truly matters.

Longtime viewers know that ‘General Hospital’ has a rich history. The soap first premiered on April 1, 1963, and continues to be the longest-running American drama currently in production.

‘General Hospital’ airs on ABC every weekday at 2 PM ET and 1 PM CT. This early afternoon slot has been a staple for dedicated fans for decades.

Viewers in the western regions are also accommodated. The show airs at noon Mountain and 11 AM Pacific. Since local scheduling can vary by market, those outside the Eastern and Central time zones should check their local affiliate listings.

Friday’s schedule follows the same pattern as any other weekday, with the network maintaining this four-zone breakdown consistently from Monday to Friday.

With a legacy spanning several decades, the series has produced over 15,000 episodes and has won numerous Emmy Awards. It has also received 13 nominations for the 2026 Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Daytime Drama Series.

To watch ‘General Hospital’ online or on TV, the simplest way to catch the episode live is through ABC. If you miss the afternoon broadcast, you can stream the latest episodes the day after they air on Hulu or via the official ABC website and mobile app.

For those who have cut the cord, there are still options. Hulu Live TV includes the ABC feed in its bundle, and Fubo also offers the ABC affiliate in its channel lineup. Both services allow fans to watch live without needing a traditional cable box.

YouTube TV is another alternative, providing listings for all upcoming episodes along with a cloud DVR that has no storage limits. Disney+ also features episodes with brief descriptions for each installment.

The preview for Friday’s episode is packed with emotion. Sonny faces heartbreak, Trina and Josslyn find common ground, and Jordan receives life-changing news. There’s also a lighter moment as Gio surprises Emma, while Chase confronts Brook Lynn. This blend of romance and tension is quintessential ‘General Hospital’ pacing.

The aftermath of Pentonville sets the stage for Sonny’s challenging week. Dante suspects his father is involved in a prison beating, and his fears are confirmed, leading to a confrontation with Sonny before the week concludes. The brutal attack leaves Sidwell fighting for his life in the hospital.

In a separate storyline, Charlotte is set to attend boarding school, but fans need not worry about losing her character. According to Soap Opera Digest, executive producer Frank Valentini has confirmed that Bluesy Burke will continue in the role during holidays and other breaks from school.

With Sonny at the center of the unfolding drama, following Dante’s confrontation and a prison attack linked to him, viewers are left to ponder whether the heartbreak he faces is a consequence of his actions or just another blow from a man who believed he had turned his life around.
