Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. Fantastic Four Figures for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Revealed
The rivalry between Doctor Doom and the Fantastic Four is one of the most iconic in Marvel Comics history. Since his debut in ‘Fantastic Four’ #5 in 1962, Doom has established himself as the team’s greatest adversary. Now, as the MCU prepares to bring this epic conflict to the big screen, collectors are getting a sneak peek.
The groundwork for this showdown was laid even before the announcement of ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ Robert Downey Jr. made a surprise appearance as Doom in the mid-credits scene of ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ and during Marvel’s March 2025 livestream, the cast for ‘Doomsday’ was confirmed. Downey will reprise his role as Doom in both ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Wars,’ with the Fantastic Four set to play a significant role in the unfolding drama.
On October 2, MCU Film News unveiled what they described as the first look at Hot Toys’ Doctor Doom vs. The Fantastic Four figures for ‘Avengers: Doomsday.’ The image features Doom towering ominously in a dark green hood and flowing cloak, conjuring swirling green magic as the heroes rally from below. Mister Fantastic can be seen stretching an arm towards the villain, while The Thing’s rocky orange head is prominently displayed, and Invisible Woman raises her hands, all set against a backdrop of debris and smoke.
This display showcases 1/6-scale figures of Downey’s Doctor Doom, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm. Hot Toys’ broader ‘Doomsday’ collection also features figures of Thor, Professor X, Cyclops, Gambit, Magneto, and a Steve Rogers figure holding a cracked Mjolnir. While pricing and release details for this showdown set are still under wraps, the image alone has sparked excitement among collectors.

The Doctor Doom figure stands approximately 31 centimeters tall and boasts 30 points of articulation, featuring a newly designed masked head with rolling eyeballs. Hot Toys includes eight interchangeable hands, including a pair specifically for casting mystical powers. The Special Edition comes with a commemorative life-size metal ring, while the Ultimate Version features a Sentinel’s hand-themed LED light-up diorama base and a mystery accessory priced at $390.
Collectors can enhance their display with Doom’s throne for an additional $210. This accessory recreates the throne’s architecture, complete with gold geometric runic designs and a green stained glass backdrop, which helps explain the green glow that dominates the new showdown image.
The Fantastic Four figures have their own intriguing backstory. Hot Toys introduced Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, and The Thing in July 2025, but Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch was notably absent. Rumors suggested that the company faced challenges obtaining licensing approval from Marvel Studios for his flame effects, until an official reveal finally came.
The earlier Mister Fantastic figure included interchangeable arm and leg attachments to simulate his stretching abilities. Seeing him reach for Doom in the new display indicates that the team has made dramatic use of those parts. Pascal has previously shared a glimpse of his blue Mister Fantastic suit from the ‘Doomsday’ set, confirming that the team’s look will carry over.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to premiere on December 18, 2026, uniting heroes from three different universes against an existential threat. The cast features Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Letitia Wright as Shuri, among many others. With Doom taking center stage, the Fantastic Four’s involvement appears to be more significant than ever.
If this display is any indication, Marvel’s First Family is gearing up for the battle of their lives. For collectors, this may also become one of the standout pieces in the entire ‘Doomsday’ collection.
