Hulu’s Top 10 movie chart is often filled with the latest franchise hits, but this week tells a different tale. Streaming charts have evolved into a form of entertainment news, with fans frequently sharing screenshots of weekly changes to see which older films are making a comeback in cultural discussions.

This was evident when an X account tracking Hulu’s daily movie rankings shared the platform’s Top 15, showcasing a blend of blockbusters, hidden gems, and one surprising romantic comedy. At number 14, ‘Something’s Gotta Give,’ the 2003 film directed by Nancy Meyers and featuring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton, found its place between newer titles like ‘Muzzle: City of Wolves’ and the disaster film ‘Jurassic World.’

The film’s resurgence is not as random as it may seem. ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ officially joined Hulu as part of the platform’s August 2026 lineup, alongside nostalgic favorites like ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Halloweentown.’ Its return appears to have reintroduced it to a fresh audience exploring Hulu’s library for comforting films.

Leading the chart is ‘Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear,’ a new documentary about the Blink-182 drummer that sparked significant conversation this week following its release. The film premiered on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ on August 13, detailing Barker’s journey from a trash collector in Laguna Beach to his role as the band’s drummer, along with his recovery from a life-threatening plane crash. This documentary, ten years in the making, is the first to fully explore his life and debuted earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival before hitting streaming platforms.

Co-directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, the documentary includes appearances from the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Barker’s Blink-182 bandmates Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge, and his wife Kourtney Kardashian. It begins with Barker aboard the Queen Mary 2, crossing the Atlantic, as he had avoided flying for years due to trauma from the crash, eventually returning to the skies with Kardashian’s support in 2021.

‘Something’s Gotta Give’ was never an obscure title. The romantic comedy earned $266.7 million worldwide against an $80 million budget upon its 2003 release and garnered Diane Keaton an Academy Award nomination for her role. This success may explain why so many casual viewers are pausing to take notice as they see it nestled between ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Men in Black’ on a contemporary streaming chart.

The rest of the list, featuring buzz around ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and genre favorites like ‘Twilight’ and ‘The Avengers,’ illustrates the unpredictability of Hulu’s daily rankings, where algorithmic spikes can elevate decades-old films to unexpected chart positions overnight. Did the return of ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ surprise you, or does it seem like the perfect comfort watch that Hulu subscribers have been quietly revisiting all along?
