Adam Sandler recently shared a touching sentiment about his wife, Jackie, while accepting a prestigious honor at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. During his acceptance speech for the Chairman Award, the beloved comedian reflected on how different his life might have been if he hadn’t found success in Hollywood.

Sandler mused about a hypothetical reality where he joined his father’s electrical business instead of becoming an actor. He told the audience that even in that alternate timeline, he is certain he would have still found his way to Jackie.

“That’s destiny,” Sandler declared, insisting that nothing could have stopped them from being together. However, he quickly lightened the mood with his trademark humor regarding their lifestyle.

He joked that while the marriage was inevitable, their living situation would certainly look different without his movie career. “We definitely would have a different house,” he quipped, noting they would likely have ten fewer bathrooms and far fewer statues of himself.

The couple first met on the set of the 1999 hit Big Daddy and have been married since June 2003. They share two daughters, Sadie and Sunny, and have remained a strong unit in the entertainment industry for over two decades.

Sandler received the award for his performance in the comedy-drama Jay Kelly, directed by Noah Baumbach. He expressed immense gratitude for his career and his family, stating he is happier than ever with where his life has led him.
