Adam Scott Reveals He Auditioned for ‘Hellraiser 6’ After Dying in Part 4
Adam Scott recently shared a peculiar anecdote from the early days of his acting career, disclosing that he once auditioned for a ‘Hellraiser’ sequel despite his character having been killed off in the franchise years prior. He humorously remarked, “Maybe they won’t notice,” as he walked into the audition.
The actor first entered the horror series with 1996’s ‘Hellraiser: Bloodline,’ portraying Jacques, a young man ensnared in a deadly pact with a demon named Angelique. Scott recounted this early role during a recent appearance on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers,’ where he made the comments.
Reflecting on that time, Scott admitted he had little understanding of what he was getting into. He stated, “I was like, ‘Oh, this is an acting job?’ And so I was so excited.” He also noted that his character met a brutal end in the film, joking, “I think someone bites my face off.”
Following his debut in the franchise, Scott continued to take on small roles in various projects. Years later, he received an unexpected opportunity: an audition for ‘Hellraiser 6,’ also known as ‘Hellraiser: Hellseeker.’ The catch was straightforward—his character from the previous film was already dead.
Despite the awkwardness, Scott’s agent sent him the audition, and he decided to give it a shot. He confessed, “But I need a job, so I’m like, ‘Screw it.’ And I go to the audition just thinking, ‘Maybe they won’t notice that I was in Hellraiser 4.’”
The situation became even more uncomfortable when he realized that some individuals from the earlier film were present in the same building during the audition. He recalled sitting in the waiting room and spotting a producer from ‘Hellraiser 4’ nearby, which made the moment feel even more awkward. He described it as a tense situation, yet he pushed through, hoping for the best.
During the interview, he also reflected on the unpredictability of that stage in his career. In a separate discussion with BuzzFeed, Scott mentioned that his first film experience felt both thrilling and chaotic, filled with mix-ups on set and a lengthy wait before the movie’s release.
Despite the messy nature of those early projects, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work, even if the final outcomes weren’t ideal.
Scott has since moved far beyond those early horror roles. His latest film, ‘Hokum,’ is currently in theaters, and he continues to enjoy a steady career in film and television following years of growth.
