After Almost 30 Years, ‘Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube’ Is Back with a New Anime Series This Summer

Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube first appeared as a manga written by Shō Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano. The original manga ran from 1993 to 1999 and was collected in 31 volumes.
Several additional works have been released, including a 49-episode anime series, several films and even an OVA. Now, the anime series is back after almost 30 years and that is a thrill!
It has been confirmed that Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube will be back later this year and we have all the information you need!
It has been officially confirmed that Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube will be back this summer and we can also confirm that the first two episodes will premiere on July 2, 2025 as part of a special broadcast on TV Asahi’s new programming block for anime titled “IM Animation W” at 11:15 p.m. JST. Later episodes will debut at 11:45 p.m. JST.
The anime will consist of two cours (between 11-13 episodes each, probably) and the first one will air in July, while the second one has been confirmed for January 2026, although a date has not yet been specified.
It has been confirmed that Yasuyuki Ōishi will be directing the anime at Studio KAI., with Fumito Yamada as the assistant director. Yoshiki Ōkusa will participate as the head writer, and Yū Yoshiyama as the character designer. Evan Call is composing the music.
The new anime will feature the voice talents of Ryōtarō Okiayu as Meisuke Nueno, Ryōko Shiraishi as Hiroshi Tateno, Aya Suzaki as Kyoko Inaba, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Miki Hosokawa, Ryōta Iwasaki as Katsuya Kimura, Shiho Kokido as Makoto Kurita, Aya Endō as Ritsuko Takahashi, Ai Kakuma as Yukime, and Toshiyuki Morikawa as Kyosuke Tamamo, a handsome young man living in Domori Town
