Angela Bassett Teases Possible Return as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther 3: “It Could Happen”

Angela Bassett is excited about possibly coming back to the Marvel world in Black Panther 3. The actress played Queen Ramonda in the first two Black Panther movies. Even though her character died in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Bassett has an idea for how she could return.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Bassett said, “That would be wonderful,” when asked if she would return for the third movie. She then explained how it could happen: “Listen, the Ancestral Plane? I could be there. You know? It could happen. I would, absolutely.” She also added, “Everyone wants it to happen.”

In Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda dies while saving Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne) during an attack by Namor (Tenoch Huerta Mejía). Her death was very emotional and deeply affected her daughter Shuri, who later became the new Black Panther.

But even though Ramonda died, the movie showed that characters can still appear after death. For example, Erik Killmonger came back in Wakanda Forever through the Ancestral Plane after Shuri took the heart-shaped herb. This shows that it’s possible for Queen Ramonda to return in the same way and guide her daughter from the spiritual world.

Right now, Black Panther 3 is in early development, so fans will have to wait a while before the movie comes out. Director Ryan Coogler is currently focused on another film called Sinners, which is a vampire horror movie. That film has been doing well in theaters around the world.

There’s not much known yet about the story of Black Panther 3, but one exciting piece of news is that Denzel Washington has joined the cast. His role hasn’t been revealed, but Coogler has said he really wanted to work with the famous actor. Washington also said that Coogler wrote a part just for him, though we don’t know what that part is yet.

So, while we don’t know everything about Black Panther 3 just yet, fans can look forward to the chance of seeing Angela Bassett return — even if it’s in the Ancestral Plane.
