‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Reveals Doctor Doom Popcorn Bucket Ahead of Release
Collectible concessions have evolved into a blockbuster tradition. Moviegoers eagerly queue for popcorn buckets, cups, and bags shaped like beloved characters, and studios are taking notice. The excitement surrounding the ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ popcorn bucket has been building for months.
As early as December, fans were sharing a concept for a Doctor Doom bucket designed by artist Bosslogic, which garnered hundreds of thousands of views on X. Since then, social media has been awash with fan-created designs, ranging from mask busts to gauntlets and goblets. The wait appears to be almost over.
On September 27, the X account Buy Physical Media unveiled a first look at the Doctor Doom popcorn bucket for ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which was subsequently shared by MCU Film News. This is the same account that sparked viral interest with their AMC popcorn “butter” post over the weekend, racking up millions of views. The image showcases Doom depicted as a bust surrounded by a swirl of green lightning.
The bucket features Doom from the hood down to the belt, showcasing his silver mask with glowing green eyes, a square-patterned green tunic, a chain connecting two shoulder medallions, and a flowing cape. This design is faithful to the character’s appearance in previous promotional materials.

As is common with early concession leaks, some key details remain unclear. The original post does not specify which theater chain will offer the bucket or when it will be available for purchase. No pricing information has been disclosed either.
Not everyone is convinced by the full-torso design. One fan commented on the post questioning why the bucket includes Doom’s entire body instead of just the head with the mask and hood. Such debates often arise following the reveal of any collectible.
The same post also provided an update for horror enthusiasts. Buy Physical Media mentioned they spoke with the company behind the viral ‘Resident Evil’ bag, which may produce more due to high demand. This reflects the current appetite for unique movie merchandise.
It also suggests a trend in concession merchandise. Quirky collectibles are now spreading as rapidly as trailers. A well-crafted bucket can serve as free advertising.

The timing is perfect for Marvel’s promotional efforts. The studio has been teasing Doom’s role in the upcoming film, including an ‘Endgame Encore’ poster released on September 25. This poster features the villain seated in a theater, holding a red nano gauntlet filled with popcorn, accompanied by the phrase “Doom Shall Attend.” Robert Downey Jr. also shared the artwork.
‘Endgame Encore’ is currently screening with new scenes that set the stage for the next Avengers installment. This provides Marvel with a ready audience for teasers and merchandise. The bucket reveal fits seamlessly into this promotional strategy.
The popcorn bucket adds to a growing array of Doom-themed products. Previous merchandise has included keychains, socks, and wallets, along with a Hasbro Titan Series action figure of Downey’s Doom in the classic green outfit. UK retailer Menkind has also listed a Marvel Avengers Doomsday 12 Days Socks Advent Calendar for £30.
The Russo brothers have described Downey’s Doom costume as their favorite from the entire MCU. This confidence helps explain why much of the marketing has focused on this look. The green hood, silver mask, and armor have become the film’s visual hallmark.
The film itself carries significant weight. ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, is set to hit theaters on December 18, 2026, uniting heroes from three universes to confront Doom’s menace. Downey portrays Victor von Doom after an 11-year tenure as Tony Stark, with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ scheduled for December 17, 2027.
The popcorn bucket ultimately highlights one of the most ambitious casting choices in Marvel history. Transforming the MCU’s newest major villain into a snack container is a fitting testament to the scale of this event. Given the buzz, the bucket is likely to sell out quickly.
