Marvel enthusiasts are accustomed to waiting until just a month or two before a new blockbuster’s release to secure their seats. However, that trend has been completely upended for the upcoming crossover. With countdown clocks, leaked footage, and a marketing strategy like no other, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been positioned as a major event right from the start.

This event-level treatment has now reached a significant milestone. Advance tickets for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ are officially on sale, allowing fans to secure their seats a remarkable five months before the film’s release. This early ticket sale is unusual for Marvel, reflecting the studio’s confidence as December approaches.

The initial rollout is exclusive to theaters certified under Disney’s new Infinity Vision premium format, covering select showtimes during the film’s opening two weeks, from the first preview screenings on Thursday, December 17, through Wednesday, December 30. Sales commenced at 11 AM ET via Fandango and participating theater chains, with screening times already available on platforms like Harkins Theatres.

Infinity Vision is a recent innovation, created in response to a scheduling conflict brewing this December. Warner Bros secured exclusive access to IMAX theaters for three weeks surrounding the release of ‘Dune Part Three’, which coincidentally opens on the same day as ‘Doomsday’. This prompted Disney to establish its own premium large format specifically for this release.

The competitive landscape has clearly influenced Marvel’s aggressive approach to this early ticket sale. Selling tickets so far in advance also provides fans with a reliable preview of the film’s runtime, as a fixed screening schedule offers an approximate length even before the final cut is finalized.

Marvel and Fandango have also included additional incentives for fans who purchase tickets early. Anyone buying a ticket through Fandango between July 20 and November 9 will automatically be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to the film’s world premiere in Los Angeles.

Additionally, Fandango is offering a special Infinity Vision Launch Bundle, which includes one Infinity Vision ticket, two mystery collectibles that will be revealed later, and one entry into the premiere sweepstakes, available while supplies last. Buyers selecting Infinity Vision showtimes will even see a custom Doomsday-themed seat map designed specifically for this format.

The timing of this ticket release is no coincidence. Marvel Studios is set to return to Hall H at San Diego Comic Con this Saturday, July 25, marking its first appearance since Robert Downey Jr.’s surprise Doctor Doom reveal made headlines back in 2024. Launching ticket sales just days before this presentation builds excitement leading into what is anticipated to be one of the panel’s most significant moments.

With Doctor Doom positioned as the next major villain in the MCU and a cast that spans three generations of heroes, this ticket rollout feels less like a standard sales announcement and more like the beginning of Marvel’s most extensive promotional campaign to date.
