‘Batwoman’ Star Ruby Rose Shares Video of Pool Accident Resulting in Broken Ribs
Ruby Rose is on the mend following a painful home accident that resulted in multiple broken ribs. The actress and model took to social media to share a video capturing the frightening moment when a simple stroll around her swimming pool led to a hospital visit and a lengthy recovery process.
According to Rose’s posts on Threads and Instagram, the incident occurred when she slipped near her outdoor pool. In the video, the 40-year-old actress is seen walking along the pool’s edge while holding what looks like a hose. Suddenly, she loses her balance, falls backward, strikes the side of the pool area, and lands in the water.
After her fall, Rose is visible swimming away while clutching her side. She later detailed that the impact caused severe pain and resulted in broken ribs. Please come and take me out. I brought this upon myself,” Rose captioned the video on Threads.
She explained that she landed directly on the right side of her ribs, breaking the bottom two. Rose also mentioned that she now requires a breathing machine during her recovery.

In a follow-up update on Instagram, Rose revealed that she was hospitalized following the accident. She managed to joke about the ordeal while emphasizing the challenges of her injury.
“RIP to my ribs and to the rest of my summer. They are broken, multiple,” Rose wrote over the video. She added, “Straight to hospital, did not go pass go or collect 200 dollars.”
Rose continued to provide updates on her recovery, sharing that she is experiencing considerable pain. “I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards,” she noted, mentioning that she struggles to wear a bra or even stand up due to the discomfort.
This isn’t the first serious rib injury Rose has faced. She recalled a challenging moment from 2019 while filming the superhero series ‘Batwoman’. Rose mentioned that she returned to work shortly after breaking a rib and suffering a neck injury during production.
Reflecting on that experience, Rose questioned her decision to push through the pain. “I’m sorry, but what in the f—ing dissociation and self-abandonment did I do to return to work on ‘Batwoman’ the day after breaking my rib and neck?” Rose expressed. “My rib was killing me!! I couldn’t feel my legs or hands; I was in a batsuit!”
Rose portrayed Kate Kane, the cousin of Bruce Wayne, in the first season of ‘Batwoman’. She exited the series in 2020 after just one season. Currently, the actress is focusing on her recovery and taking a break from work. In another message to her fans, Rose requested recommendations for books and shows to help her pass the time during her healing process.
“This is going to take many weeks,” she stated. Despite the painful circumstances, Rose has maintained her sense of humor while keeping her followers updated. The actress is widely recognized for her roles in ‘Orange Is the New Black’, ‘Batwoman’, and films like ‘Dirty Angels’, and she continues to receive support from fans as she recovers from this unexpected incident.
