Brad Pitt Open to Working With Tom Cruise Again, As Long As There Are No Wild Stunts Involved

Brad Pitt recently shared his thoughts on working with Tom Cruise again, but he made it clear that he won’t be doing any crazy stunts in the sky. While speaking to E! News at the Mexico premiere of his new movie F1, Pitt said he’d be open to teaming up with Cruise on screen again—just not if it means hanging off airplanes.
“Well, I’m not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that,” Pitt said with a laugh. “So when he does something again that’s on the ground [then yes].”
The last time the two actors worked together was way back in 1994 in Interview with the Vampire. Since then, they haven’t reunited in any movie.
Pitt’s upcoming film F1 is directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer—the same team behind Tom Cruise’s hit Top Gun: Maverick, which made over $1.4 billion at the box office in 2022.
Kosinski told GQ that he once tried to bring Cruise and Pitt together for his version of Ford v Ferrari, but the studio didn’t approve the budget. That film ended up being directed by James Mangold and starred Christian Bale and Matt Damon.
Kosinski spoke about Cruise’s style, saying, “Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled.” He also said both Cruise and Pitt are naturally good drivers, but that Cruise’s approach might be a little more intense.
“We’d have had a crash,” joked Graham Kelly, the film’s action vehicle supervisor, while talking to GQ. “Tom pushes it to the limit. I mean really to the limit. That terrifies me. I mean, I’ve done loads of ‘Mission: Impossibles’ with Tom and it’s the most stressful experience for someone like me building cars for him, doing stunts with him. Whereas Brad listens and he knows his abilities, and I think he’d be the first to say, ‘Yeah, I’m not going to do that.’”
Brad Pitt’s F1 will be released in theaters on June 27. Meanwhile, Cruise already launched his own summer action movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in May, where he once again performed stunts that most actors wouldn’t dare try—including hanging off a moving airplane.
