Toshiaki Iwashiro’s sci-fi survival manga ‘Psyren’ is receiving a television anime adaptation nearly 15 years after its conclusion. The project was officially announced in the latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, confirming a broadcast premiere set for 2026. This development revives the property following its original serialization run in the magazine from 2007 to 2010.

Studio Satelight has been tasked with the animation production for the series. Veteran director Katsumi Ono, recognized for his work on ‘Symphogear’ and ‘Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s’, will helm the project. Shin Yoshida is attached to handle series composition, while Akira Okuma will provide the character designs. The musical score is being composed by a team consisting of Takashi Omama, Tatsuhiko Saiki, and Shu Kanematsu.

The narrative follows high school student Ageha Yoshina, who operates a service to help others with their problems for a small fee. His reality shifts after he discovers a mysterious calling card bearing the word “Psyren” and answers a public payphone. Yoshina is subsequently transported to a dystopian wasteland where he must utilize latent psychic abilities to survive a deadly game orchestrated by the enigmatic Nemesis Q.

Remow has acquired the license for the series, indicating plans for global distribution. The original manga spans 16 tankobon volumes and has retained a cult following despite the series ending over a decade ago. No specific voice cast members or an exact release season have been disclosed at this stage of production.
