‘Descendants 5’ Officially Greenlit: Kylie Cantrall & Malia Baker Return, New Stars Join the Cast!

The next installment of the Descendants movie series is officially happening! Production for the fifth film is set to begin soon, and fans can expect the return of familiar faces. Kylie Cantrall and Malia Baker will reprise their roles as Red and Chloe, daughters of the Queen of Hearts and Cinderella. The film will continue the story of the iconic Disney villains’ teenage children.

In addition to Cantrall and Baker, Leonardo Nam is back as Maddox Hatter, the son of the Mad Hatter.

There are also some fresh new characters! Liamani Segura, known for High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, will play Red’s sister, Pink. Brendon Tremblay and Alexandro Byrd join the cast as the Mad Hatter’s other son, Max, and Luisa Madrigal’s son, Luis, respectively. Kiara Romero will take on the role of Hazel Hook, daughter of Captain Hook.

The movie, set mainly in modern-day Wonderland, picks up after the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red. The story will explore what happens after Red and Chloe return from their time-travel adventures. It promises to dive into the consequences of tampering with time, as hinted at in the previous film.

Kimmy Gatewood will direct the movie, with a script by Tamara Chestna, Dan Frey, and Ru Sommer. Emmy-winning choreographer Emilio Dosal will join the team to bring even more music and magic to the Descendants world.
