Disney Characters That Start With Q: Iconic Names
While names starting with ‘Q’ are rarer, let’s have a look at some of the biggest names in the Disney universe that have names with this letter!
1. Quackerjack (Darkwing Duck)
One of Negaduck’s Fearsome Five, Quackerjack is a former toymaker put out of business by the advent of the Whiffle Boy video game. In order to fund his toy making business, he turned to crime and started robbing banks.
Now taking on a jester appearance, he uses his toy-making ability to supply himself with a variety of gadgets that help him with his crimes.
He has a puppet that he talks to in a schizophrenic way called Mr Banana Brain, often adopting a very high pitched voice to be the puppet’s responses.
Among his many toys in the arsenal, he has a giant teddy bear that contains a bomb inside and can destroy buildings and a giant ‘Crying Crissie’ doll that produces mass amounts of tears which he used to try to flood a ‘Whiffle Boy’ town.
He has some smaller, less destructive, toys such as a pair of robot teeth that constantly chatters; an apathy causing toy called Mr Relaxatron; and a torture device Mr History that constantly spouts useless historical facts over and over in order to bore people to death.
2. Quasimodo (The Hunchback of Notre-Dame)
Often seen in a green tunic and his distinctive hunchback, Quasimodo is condemned to stay in the Notre-Dame Cathedral’s highest tower to be a bell-ringer by the villain Judge Claude Frollo.
Judge Claude Frollo caused Quasimodo’s mother’s death by kicking her onto stone stairs in front of the cathedral. This spurred the Archdeacon to force the judge to take care of the child for the act of murder in front of the holy place.
This resulted in Frollo telling Quasimodo of the terrors of the outside world as he raised him. although this does not seem to cause Quasimodo to fear certain bogeymen as the gypsies or humans in general, despite Frollo’s fear-mongering.
3. The Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs)
The main villain, her quest to be the most beautiful in the land sees her become obsessed with taking out Snow White. Eventually transforming herself using magic to become an old woman and conjuring up the Sleeping Death curse, she gives Snow White a poisoned apple.
The irony of the Queen destroying her own beauty to prevent Snow White from being the most beautiful is not lost on many.
Her plan eventually fails, as the Huntsman refuses to kill the innocent Snow White, and Snow White’s kindness to animals such as birds see them alert her to the old hag’s plan with the apple, however she does end up eating it and falling into a deep sleep.
The Queen, while generally nameless, is shown to be regal and a competent ruler, but clues such as the skeletons in her dungeon show her to be ruthless and cruel as well.
4. The Queen (A Bug’s Life)
Sometimes referred to as Mom or Mommy by other characters such as her daughters, she is a great queen who cares about her subjects dearly, but is forced into compliance by the violent and power hungry grasshoppers.
Wearing a crown of pink flower petals, she rules over Ant Island.
5. Quincy (Little Einsteins)
A young boy often appearing in multi-coloured clothes, he is an accomplished musician and is often seen with Annie as one of the main characters.
Being kind, sweet, caring and compassionate, Quincy is one of the most emotionally mature five-year olds out there.
He is good friends with Leo, June, Annie, and Rocket, with a good relationship with pets such as Tapper.
6. Quint (Timon & Pumbaa)
The archenemy of the duo of Timon and Pumbaa, he seemingly exists to just get in the way of Timon and Pumbaa. Being vain, sneaky and arrogant, he undertakes a wide variety of jobs and can never be trusted.
Always seen with a permanent 5 o’clock shadow and a bright red nose with a leering, tooth grin, he variously been a gold prospector, French cook, and a wildlife photographer among many others.
His name will change depending on whatever role he has landed, such as Cusco Quint when a con artist, Concierge Quint when a hotel manager, and Captain Quint when on a boat.
