And while many people consider Dungeons & Dragons just a leisurely form of entertainment, the world of Dungeons & Dragons is a large and complex one, as players will know.

It takes a lot of time and effort to properly craft the whole world and the people behind the whole franchise have been putting a lot of work into crafting the franchise we know and love. Now, that world has been hit with a major blow.

Namely, Jeremy Crawford, the leader designer for Dungeons & Dragons, has recently left the parent company, Wizards of the Coast, meaning he won’t be working on the franchise anymore. He left a message on social media confirming this:

Nearly 18 years ago, I joined the D&D team at Wizards of the Coast to work on the game that has inspired me and so many others.  In my years on the team, I worked with amazing writers, editors, art directors, artists, graphic designers, and others to create numerous D&D books, including the core books for fifth edition D&D.

“Today I’m departing Wizards of the Coast to embark on new quests.  I can’t wait to see the great things ahead for D&D, and I look forward to seeing many of you at conventions in the years ahead.  May all your adventures be magical!

Crawford had been with the franchise since 2007 and his loss will definitely be a major blow for the franchise, as they are searching for a new lead designer.
