Edward Norton Sparks Viral Moments After Fans Spot Him Talking to Himself at World Cup
A surprise Hollywood reunion at the World Cup has fans buzzing after Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were seen together during the United States Men’s National Team’s final group-stage match in California.
The two actors, renowned for their roles in the 1999 classic ‘Fight Club’, were captured chatting, laughing, and enjoying the game from a stadium hospitality suite.
Their appearance quickly gained traction on social media, but the attention stemmed not only from their friendship. Many fans turned the moment into a humorous reference to ‘Fight Club’s’ iconic twist ending.
One viral post humorously questioned, “Why is Edward Norton talking to himself?” This joke references the film’s major reveal, where Norton’s character, known simply as the Narrator, realizes that Tyler Durden, portrayed by Pitt, is actually a manifestation of his own psyche.
In ‘Fight Club’, the two characters are perceived as distinct individuals for most of the film. However, the narrative later unveils that Tyler is a figment of the Narrator’s imagination. This twist led fans to joke that Pitt was not genuinely beside Norton at the World Cup, suggesting that Norton was merely “talking to himself” once again.
The reunion also ignited speculation among fans about a potential ‘Fight Club’ sequel. Pictures from the event sparked excitement on X, with one user exclaiming, “Fight Club 2 confirmed.” Another fan quipped, “Probably talking about how they can’t talk about Fight Club…”
Reports from the event noted that Pitt attended the match in a retro-style football shirt paired with white pants, while Norton opted for a more casual gray outfit. The actors appeared at ease as they enjoyed the soccer match together.
The World Cup game also attracted numerous other celebrities. Former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff were present, along with Second Lady Usha Vance. Hollywood figures such as Jessica Alba, Owen Wilson, and Ashton Kutcher were also spotted in the crowd. NFL players Puka Nacua and Ty Simpson were part of the celebrity lineup as well.
This outing comes as Pitt has been making headlines beyond his film career. Recently, his daughter Zahara graduated from Spelman College with a degree in psychology, drawing attention when she chose to use the name Zahara Marley Jolie instead of her father’s surname during the ceremony.
Pitt and Angelina Jolie share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. The former couple began their relationship in 2004, married in 2014, and separated two years later. Their divorce was finalized in 2024 after a lengthy legal battle involving custody arrangements and their French estate, Château Miraval.
Outside of his past marriage, Pitt has been in a relationship with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon since 2022. A source told Page Six that de Ramon has formed a close bond with Pitt’s family.
“Ines is incredibly close with Brad’s family. They absolutely adore her and she’s been welcomed with open arms from the beginning,” the source said.
The insider added that Pitt’s family views her as part of their lives, though the actor currently has “no plans on getting married.”
For now, fans are reveling in the unexpected ‘Fight Club’ reunion, even as the viral jokes about Norton “talking to himself” serve as a reminder of one of cinema’s most unforgettable twists.
