Elizabeth Olsen & Alicia Vikander Face the Ultimate Test in Sci-Fi Thriller ‘The Assessment’ Official Trailer Out Now!

The official trailer for The Assessment has been released, giving fans a first look at the intense sci-fi thriller. The film, directed by Fleur Fortuné in her feature debut, stars Elizabeth Olsen, Alicia Vikander, and Himesh Patel. It is set to hit U.S. theaters on March 21, 2025.

The Assessment takes place in a future where couples must prove they are fit to be parents. They must pass a test and then endure a seven-day evaluation by an “assessor.” This assessor puts them through extreme challenges to determine if they qualify for parenthood.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2024. Amazon Prime Video has acquired international rights, excluding Germany.

Early reviews are positive, with an 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Alicia Vikander was also nominated for Best Lead Performance at the British Independent Film Awards. The film won Best Production Design at the same event.

Filming took place in Germany and Tenerife, and the movie is produced by Augenschein Filmproduktion and Number 9 Films.
