‘Fauda’ Season 5 Release Date Announced for Netflix with First-Look Images
Fans of ‘Fauda’ can finally mark their calendars as the next chapter of the Israeli action drama is set to premiere. According to Deadline, Season 5 will be available worldwide on Netflix starting September 8, featuring Lior Raz reprising his role as Doron Kavillio on yet another perilous mission.
This new season unfolds two years after the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. This pivotal event significantly influences the narrative, as Doron and his team grapple with the emotional aftermath while confronting a new and serious threat.

In Season 5, the fighters are on a mission to thwart a catastrophic attack on Israel. However, the narrative delves deeper, exploring the consequences of years spent in a cycle of violence and revenge.

Avi Issacharoff, the series creator alongside Raz, revealed that the team had to completely revise their plans for the new season following the October 7 attack. The original scripts were discarded, and the writers restructured the storyline to reflect the significant changes in the region.

“This is a TV show, not reality. But we thought that there is still a story here to be told,” Issacharoff shared with Deadline.
He emphasized that the new season aims to pose challenging questions about the ongoing cycle of violence.
“We wanted to ask very tough questions to people all over the world, not only in Israel. Is the revenge worth it? Is continuing this very endless cycle of bloodshed worth it? Where is it taking you?” he remarked.

These profound questions seem to be central to Doron’s upcoming mission. Having endured years of personal and professional struggles, Season 5 promises to challenge him further as he seeks to safeguard his nation while confronting the repercussions of his past.
Raz returns in the lead role, joined by Yaakov Zada Daniel and Doron Ben-David. New faces include French actress Melanie Laurent and Hakim Djaziri.
Directed by Omri Givon, the season features scripts co-written by Omri Shenhar, Issacharoff, Raz, and several other writers. The 11-episode season was filmed in both Israel and Hungary.
Originally premiering on the Israeli network Yes, ‘Fauda’ has evolved into one of Netflix’s most acclaimed international dramas. The streaming platform has secured all five seasons, allowing global audiences to follow Doron and his team.

The first-look images from Season 5 showcase Raz back in action as Doron, alongside Laurent as Anne Aubert and Djaziri as Saïd Al-Khatibi.
With a new threat, an expanded cast, and a narrative shaped by real-world occurrences, Season 5 could be the most emotionally challenging chapter of ‘Fauda’ yet. The new episodes will be available on Netflix starting September 8.
