First Look at the New LEGO ‘The Lord of the Rings Minas Tirith’ Set and Its Price
The LEGO Group has unveiled an impressive new set in honor of the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings, and it’s already making waves due to its size and price.
Titled LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith™, this set intricately recreates the iconic White City of Gondor. According to an official announcement from the LEGO Group in Billund, Denmark, the model consists of 8,278 pieces and is designed for adult builders and collectors. It aims to capture the grandeur and aesthetic of Minas Tirith as depicted in the film trilogy.
The build combines two styles. From a distance, it presents a full microscale depiction of the city with its towering walls and tiered architecture. Up close, it features detailed minifigure-scale rooms within significant areas like the citadel and throne room, allowing for a more interactive experience of key story moments.
Included in the set are 10 minifigures along with the horse Shadowfax. Featured characters include Gandalf the White, Aragorn as King Elessar, Arwen, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, and four Soldiers of Gondor. The set also comes with themed accessories such as helmets, shields, and Aragorn’s crown.

LEGO has also confirmed the release details. Early access for LEGO Insiders begins on 1 June, with a general release on 4 June. The price is set at £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99, which has already surprised many fans online due to its high cost.
Additionally, there will be a limited-time bonus offer. Customers purchasing the set between 1 and 7 June 2026 will receive a free LEGO Icons Grond set, which replicates the battering ram used during the Siege of Minas Tirith. This bonus set is available only while supplies last.
In conjunction with the release, LEGO plans to host a livestream today (May 12) featuring the design team discussing the creation of the set. Fans will also have the chance to enter a sweepstake for a trip to the Hobbiton Movie Set in New Zealand, along with other LEGO Lord of the Rings products.
The LEGO Group described this set as part of its celebration of 25 years of The Lord of the Rings, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products.
