Francis Ford Coppola Comments on ‘Megalopolis’ Razzie Nominations, Calls Out Hollywood for Its Cowardice

Francis Ford Coppola’s latest film Megalopolis has been nominated for six Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screen Combo for its entire cast.
The film, which took decades of Coppola’s passion and personal funding, had a rough reception, both critically and financially.
In response to the nominations, Coppola shared his thoughts on Instagram. He said he was “thrilled to accept” the recognition and criticized the industry’s lack of courage.
Coppola also drew a comparison between Megalopolis and Jaques Tati’s Playtime, a movie that initially failed at the box office but is now considered a classic. Coppola pointed out how both films share similar fates in their early years.
