When you think about who in Hollywood has been in the most movies, many big names probably come to mind. However, it’s actually some of the lesser-known actors who have appeared in most Hollywood films.
More well-known actors like Clint Eastwood, Kevin Costner, Sandra Bullock, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, and Scarlett Johansson have all appeared in more than 50 films in their careers.
Ed Harris, Jon Voight, Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Robert Downey Jr., and Slyvester Stallone have been in more than 70 movies. John Goodman, who is known for his role as the patriarch of the Conner family on Roseanne, has appeared in over 90 films.
However, have you ever been watching a movie and see an actor whose name may not immediately come to mind, but you think “That guy has been in everything”? The following actors have been in more than 100 movies (some of them more than 200). Some names you may recognize, others you may not.
While some may know him as the big brother to Julia Roberts, or father to Emma, Eric has not done too bad on his own accord as an actor. He often plays a villain and has been in over 400 movies including National Security, The Dark Knight, and The Expendables.
Rooney passed away in 2014, but he managed to appear in more than 300 movies over a career that spanned more than 80 years. He began his acting career during the silent film era.

Trejo’s personal life includes health scares and incarceration, but in his film career, he has appeared in more than 200 movies. Some films he has appeared in include Con Air, the Spy Kids movies, and the Machete films.
Jackie Chan is well known for his roles in martial arts-themed films and action movies. He has appeared in over 200 movies, including several where he was a stunt actor but was not originally credited.
He is also a voice actor, lending his voice to movies such as The Nut Job and the Kung Fu Panda trilogy. Other notable movies he has starred in include the Shanghai films and the Rush Hour trilogy.
You may not recognize Riehle’s name, but you have probably seen one of the over 200 movies he has been in during his career. Riehle has played Santa Claus in several movies. Some movies you may have seen him in include Halloween II (2009), The Search for Santa Paws, Bridesmaids, and A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas.
John Carradine passed away in 1988 but managed to appear in over 200 movies across almost six decades. Movies he appeared in include Boxcar Bertha, Stagecoach, The Grapes of Wrath, and House of Dracula. He also had four sons and four grandchildren who went on to become actors including Martha Plimpton.
Lee passed away in 2015, with over 200 movies in nearly 70 years of acting under his belt. In England, he was most known for being Count Dracula in several horror films. His notable roles in U.S. films included Count Dooku in three of the Star Wars films and Saruman in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies.
John Wayne’s acting career covered fifty years before he passed away in 1979. He appeared in over 170 films, with a lot of his earlier roles at first being uncredited. He is mostly known for his roles in westerns and war movies. Some of his popular films include True Grit, The Sons of Katie Elder, Sands of Iwo Jima and The Alamo.
Sir Michael Cain has appeared in over 160 movies over the past 70 years. He began acting at the age of 20 in the 1950s. Some movies you may have seen him in are Sleuth, A Bridge Too Far, Hannah and Her Sisters, and The Cider House Rules.
He also starred as Alfred Pennyworth in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy and several other Nolan films including Tenet and Inception.
Samuel L. Jackson
This is one name you probably do recognize, as well as his voice. Jackson has appeared in over 150 films throughout his career including Shaft, Snakes on a Plane, and Django Unchained. He portrays Nick Fury in several Marvel movies and was the voice of Lucius/Frozone in The Incredibles and Incredibles 2.
If you don’t know him as Keifer Sutherland’s father, you may know him as President Snow from the Hunger Games films. Sutherland has appeared in more than 150 movies including Fools Gold, Reign Over Me, Cold Mountain, The Italian Job, Space Cowboys, Outbreak and A Time to Kill.
Glover is best known for his role as Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon movies. He has also been in over 100 other films including Gone Fishin, The Christmas Train, Angels in the Outfield, Operation DUmbo Drop, and Predator 2. Additionally, he has done some voice acting and narrated several documentaries.
James Earl Jones
James Earl Jones has appeared in over 100 movies including narrating documentaries and voice acting. His films include Coming to America, Coming 2 America, Field of Dreams and Patriot Games. He also was the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars films and Mufasa in The Lion King.
Anthony Hopkins is most famous for his role as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon. But he has also appeared in more than 100 movies such as Hearts in Atlantis, Fracture, and the Thor movies.
Hudson is mostly known as playing Winston in the Ghostbusters movies but has appeared in over 100 other films including The Hand that Rocks the Cradle and the Miss Congeniality movies.
Duvall has appeared in over 100 movies and has starred alongside Tom Cruise, Christian Bale, John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Kevin Costner, and Julia Roberts. He is well known for his role as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird as well as Tom Hagen in the Godfather movies.

Robert DeNiro has appeared in over 100 movies, mostly gangster movies like the Godfather and Goodfellas. Other films you may have seen him in include Men of Honor, Analyze This, Analyze That, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, and Little Fockers.
Not only is Nicolas Cage a well-known actor who has appeared in more than 100 movies, but he is also a member of the famous Coppola family which includes his uncle, director Francis Ford Coppola. Just a few of his movies include the National Treasure movies, the Ghost Rider films, Con Air, Gone in 60 Seconds, World Trade Center, City of Angels, and Snake Eyes.
And, we don’t want to leave the ladies out. Bette Davis, Helen Mirren, and Susan Sarandon have all appeared in close to 100 movies.
