FX Orders ‘Seven Sisters’ Series Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti
FX greenlights a new limited series centered on a fractured family confronting supernatural elements and hidden truths. ‘Seven Sisters’ features Elizabeth Olsen as Adrienne, a sister who begins hearing an inexplicable voice that exposes long-suppressed family secrets. Cristin Milioti co-stars in the project, portraying another key sibling in the ensemble.
The series explores the unraveling of a large, close-knit family dynamic when Adrienne’s auditory experiences force confrontations with buried traumas. FX picked up the adaptation directly to series following competitive interest from multiple networks and streamers. Production details remain undisclosed at this stage.
Olsen, known for her role as Wanda Maximoff in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, takes on this psychological drama. Milioti gained recognition for performances in ‘The Penguin’ and ‘Palm Springs’. The duo previously collaborated on the 2018 film ‘I Want to Live’.
The project originates from an original script by writer and executive producer Sarah Solemani. Additional executive producers include Olsen through her company with partner Jeni Jones, as well as Milioti. FX Productions handles in-house production for the network.
This order adds to FX’s slate of character-driven limited series, following successes like ‘Shogun’ and ‘The Bear’. The network continues expanding original programming under its Disney ownership structure. No premiere timeline has been established yet.
‘Seven Sisters’ marks Olsen’s return to television following her Emmy-nominated performance in ‘WandaVision’. Milioti recently wrapped filming on additional high-profile projects. The series aligns with FX’s focus on intimate family stories infused with genre elements.
Casting for remaining roles in the large family ensemble is underway. The project represents one of several female-led dramas in development across premium cable and streaming platforms. FX maintains distribution rights domestically.
