Analyzing Gintama Chronological Order
1. Gintama
The first season of the series is called Gintama. Skip the anime’s first two episodes because they were made for manga readers; there is more of a celebration of the manga in those episodes’ adaptation. Episode 3 marks the beginning of the season of 201 episodes.
This season begins with Gintoki and his friends Shinpachi, and Kagura, getting into random turmoil. In episode 2, Gintoki uncovers an earthquake machine plot. Unfortunately, the Amanto prince also misplaces his pet, and Gintoki’s crew gets dragged into the unrest. After a rollercoaster of comedic action, Kagura declares the “Very Merry Contest.”
2. Gintama’
This is Gintama’s second season, which you should watch once you’ve finished viewing the first. There are 51 episodes; the story continues from episode 202 to 252. No matter how odd the title may sound to you, this is not an actual film.
However, there’s a lot to look out for in this season. Shinpachi returns from vacation to find everyone has changed. Catherine becomes engaged to one of the Snack Otose regulars as if by magic.
Drag queens vs Yakuza, robots vs male escorts; everyone is fully involved in an all-out war. In episode 12, the Kabuki neighborhood is at war. Kaiên, the Kaientai giant robot, battles White-Lucifer.
The demon Gedomaru asks the Yorozuya for advice on giving gifts to friends. The season ends with Yorozuya apologizing for causing problems in the actual world by acting selfishly.
3 Gintama’: Enchousen
In the third season, Enchousen follows the second season. With a total of thirteen episodes, this may appear to be brief. However, Gintama’s Enchousen consists of episodes 253-265, and it’s well worth your time.
Although this season is much shorter than previous ones, there is still plenty of action and fun to go around. When Gintoki returns home from vacation, he finds Kintama in his place. The golden-haired warrior who has made everyone forget about him.
Gintoki seeks revenge on Kintoki, but Kintoki has enraged Gintoki’s friends to turn against him. Can Gintoki get his friends back and stop them from trying to assassinate him? Find this out and more in this season of Gintama.
4. Gintama Movie 2: The Final Chapter- be forever Yorozuya
There has only been a single film on the list up to this point, so why is called “movie 2?” Don’t be confused; Gintama Movie 2 is an updated animated version of episodes 58-61. By merging episodes 58-61, the franchise created a feature film.
Gintama Movie 2 is number four because the film was shot after the third season. You can only understand the movie if you’ve watched the previous seasons in timeline and plot. However, If you’ve seen the first three seasons, the release of the second movie motivates you to revisit the series.
5. Gintamaº
Gintamaº is the fourth season of the series; it’s best understood if viewed directly following Gintama Movie 2. Gintamaº consists of 51 episodes and transcends from episodes 266-316. It’s a must-see following your initial viewing experience.
It’s a funny start to the season as the Kyubei party switches everyone’s genders. Everyone must learn to live with gender reversal while striving to rectify things.
Tama has become a confessional as people confess to her and be forgiven. Although Gintoki wants to get money by recruiting Tama, she quits as she hears many terrible truths.
Gintoki and his team uncover Zenzou’s hidden scheme in a Ninja village. For the shogun, Gintoki, Kagura, Shinpachi, Kondo, and Hijikata are the last line of defense; Gintoki against Takasugi, Kagura fights Kamui.
During the chaos and confusion, Isaburo had an insight. The season ends with Shinsengumi biding their final farewell to their Edo friends as they become wanted fugitives.
6. Gintama
The anime series Gintama is now in its fifth season. Although many seasons pass, the company never develops unique and bizarre names. You shouldn’t be daunted by the sheer number of seasons and their names.
The series resumed with 12 episodes, from 317 to 328, with two additional OVA episodes. In this season, Kagura leaves with Kihetai for Rakuyou without alerting Gintoki and Shinpachi. Sakamoto saves Bansai and forms the Yorozuya-Joui-Kihetai alliance with Katsura. Then, the party sets off for Rakuyou planet to find Kagura and save Takasugi.
Did the new alliance succeed in its mission? Upon discovering Utsuro and Oboro’s past, the group return home, and Umi-bouzu sets to find a way to defeat Utsuro. They all resolve to fight the final battle in the next season.
7. Gintama: Slip Arc
The sixth season of Gintama is Slip Arc; it has thirteen episodes. It provides entertaining and cringe-worthy anecdotes that get you laughing out loud without being severe. It begins when Gintoki discovers a strange sword and gets into trouble as he prepares to face Okita in combat.
Tsu Terakado chooses Kagura as her mate, and the Yorozuya joins the idol realm. Rival idol Bichie plots to derail Tsu and Kagura’s careers, but Kagura has support. Bichie and Kagura compete for the best idol, but can Kagura recover her idol status?
Towards the end, Gintoki takes action against the new Gintama game. Finally, Shinpachi sees Guardian Spirits in the season finale.
8. Gintama: Silver Soul Arc
The seventh season of Gintama is divided into two parts: Gintama: Silver Soul Arc and Silver Soul Arc- Second Half War. While Gintama.: Silver Soul Arc has 12 episodes, Gintama Silver Soul Arc-Second half war has14 episodes.
The season begins from episode 342, and the series comes to a close with 367. As a result, you may see this film immediately following the sixth season, Slip Arc.
The season starts when the Altana Liberation Army takes over Earth, and the guys attempt to talk with them. However, Gintoki can’t help but feel helpless as things heat up on the Liberation Army’s ship.
Resistance on Earth finds motivation and the future is again in human hands. The Liberation Army has left Kabuki, but peace will not stay long. So what is the only way out of this precarious predicament for the gang?
9. Gintama: The semi-finals of
Consequently, the semi-final has only two episodes (OVAs) between the 367th and the concluding film. Semi-Final episodes are aired between episode 367 and the finish of the film. You’ll want to see it once you’ve accomplished the Silver Soul Arc (seventh season). The semi-finals begin when Kiheitai modifies the Heavenly Bird’s battle dynamic. Taizo proposes a remedy as the heroes fight for Earth.
The group does everything they can to defeat Utsuro. Everyone in space rushes to save the SS Heavenly Bird, and Utsuro is shocked by a new aspect of humanity.
After two years, the story changes. Shinpachi is compelled to kill Japan’s Prime Minister, Donald Zuramp. Takasugi is still missing, but Gintoki finds him. See what happens throughout the rest of the season.
10. Gintama: The Final
This is the final movie in the series, which means you should only watch it if you’ve watched the others. With one last stab, Utsuro loses his immortality and dies. Gintoki holds a dying Takasugi in his arms, and he dies, while Shinpachi and Kagura save Shouyou.
