‘Godzilla 70th Anniversary Foil Classics: Godzilla’ #1 Preview: A Classic Kaiju Story in New “Clothes”

As far as kaiju are concerned, Godzilla is undoubtedly the most famous one and the one with the most enduring legacy. Godzilla has been a part of pop culture for decades and while new material is constantly coming out, sometimes it is goog to go back to the past.

In light of the last remark, we can confirm that IDW Publishing has decided to explore the comic book history of Godzilla stories and will be bringing us a series of special reprints as part of the 70th anniversary celebrations.

And while this is an old issue, many probably haven’t read it and IDW has just released the first preview images from the upcoming release, which is scheduled for April 23, 2025.

As you can see, this reprint is actually 2012’2 Godzilla #1, with a special foil cover by Arthur Adams. The original printing revealed the following information about the story:
