Hayley Atwell Was Eight and a Half Months Pregnant During ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Fight Scene
Actress Hayley Atwell has revealed she was over eight months pregnant while filming a fight scene in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
During an interview on The Tonight Show, Atwell surprised fans by saying: “In this clip, I’m actually eight and a half months pregnant.”
She was doing reshoots for a fight scene and still chose to do her own stunts.
“I’m serious. Yes,” she told Jimmy Fallon.
“And I have to say, I was taken such good care of. Everyone was so supportive and they were like, ‘Oh, you can sit down, and we’ll have a stunt double do it.’ And I was like, ‘No! I’ve worked too hard. Let me do it.’ So I did it, and here it is.”
Atwell plays Grace, a skilled thief who teams up with the IMF team in the film.
She stars alongside Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Esai Morales, Angela Bassett, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Nick Offerman, and Hannah Waddingham.
Tom Cruise also spoke about the challenges he faced while filming. He talked about a long underwater scene where he had trouble seeing.
“A lot of times I cannot see because of the reflection of the light,” Cruise said.
“So, I would go in, kind of blind, spend a lot of time on the set figuring out [the movement] as we’re figuring out the shots. Then, when I’m doing it, I have a hard time.”
He added that his wetsuit became very heavy when wet: “The suit, when it’s wet, increases in weight by about 125 pounds.”
Cruise also said preparing for these stunts takes a lot of time and effort.
“The kind of workouts and things that I have to do just to prepare for these things, it’s years of development,” he explained. “And yeah, and I’m producing it, so it’s also that kind of thing.”
Both stars showed amazing strength and dedication while working on the final Mission: Impossible movie.
