How Tall Are Naruto Characters (In Both Feet & CM)
Every so often, Viz Media releases official databooks stating many facts and figures about characters in the Naruto series. The databooks include detailed stats about Naruto characters, including their height and power levels.
However, you don’t need the official databook to learn about the height of your favorite characters. Since we’ve read the boring book, here are the officially confirmed heights of all Naruto characters.
1. Naruto Uzumaki
The fan-favorite titular main character of the series has grown quite a bit since the beginning of the series. In the first part of the Naruto series, he was a little lad with a mischievous look on his face. However, Naruto Uzumaki was already about 4’10” (125 cm) tall by the end of the original Naruto series.
While he isn’t exactly short, his teammates still tower above him. By the beginning of Shippuden, Naruto was already taller than Sakura, rivaling Sasuke in height. By the end of Shippuden, he was already 5’5” (167 cm) tall.
2. Jiraiya
The death of Jiraiya is arguably the most emotional moment in the entire series, but this isn’t about emotions. Jiraiya towers above most other Naruto characters in terms of height, but is he one of the tallest?
Jiraiya is genuinely a very tall character compared to most other characters in the Naruto series. With a height of about 6’3” or 191 cm, he doesn’t need his weird-looking shoes to put on some height. However, since he got introduced late into the show and died pretty quickly, his height didn’t change throughout.
3. Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke is the fan-favorite lone Uchiha survivor that rivals Naruto in almost everything, including height. While Naruto usually has the upper hand in most of their duels, it seems like Sasuke takes the win here.
One of the most iconic scenes in the original Naruto series proved the superiority of Sasuke to Naruto in height. According to official sources, Sasuke was 5’0” (152 cm) tall, which is only a few centimeters taller than Naruto.
After Sasuke left to seek “power” with Orochimaru, he kept his height superiority over Naruto. By the beginning of Shippuden, he was about 5’6” (168 cm) tall, about 1cm taller than the titular character.
4. Sakura Haruno
Sakura may not be the tallest character in the Naruto series, but she isn’t short, especially for a female. In the first part of the series, she was taller than the main character, standing about 4’11” tall (149 cm). However, by the second half of the series, Naruto has grown a bit taller than Sakura, which is understandable.
At the beginning of Shippuden, Sakura was only 5’3” (151 cm) tall. This is considerably lesser than Sasuke’s and Naruto’s, primarily because they’re both males.
5. Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi is one of the show’s main characters because of his involvement with Naruto’s team. Since he was introduced as an adult, there are no differences between his height in the first and second parts of the show.
Kakashi was about 5’11” (180 cm) tall in both parts of the show. His weight didn’t change either, but I’ll be surprised to learn that that’s still the case in Boruto.
6. Hinata Hyuga
Hinata was the quiet and shy girl from the mightiest clan who married the main character. With Kishimoto using the same template for many of his characters, he reuses Sakura’s height for the Byakugan princess.
In the first part of the show, Hinata was about 4’10” (147 cm), a centimeter taller than Naruto. By the beginning of the second part, she was just as tall as Sakura, standing 5’3” tall.
7. Gaara
The former host of Shukaku and the Kazekage of the Hidden Sand has stayed around since the beginning of Naruto. In the first part of the series, he was seen as a little bloodthirsty kid until his redemption. Unfortunately, even after his redemption and his appointment as Kazekage, his height didn’t see much of an improvement.
However, it may surprise diehard fans that Gaara was surprisingly taller than Naruto in the first part of the show. In the first part, Gaara was 4’10” (147 cm), which is a bit taller than Naruto. His height did seem to stagnate throughout the show, standing at about 5’5” (166 cm) in the second part.
8. Orochimaru
Orochimaru is the main antagonist in the first part of the show. The immortal Sannin was a thorn in the flesh of the main characters until the start of the Great Ninja War. While you may not expect his height to change across the series, it did.
In the first part of Naruto, Orochimaru was about 179 cm tall (5’10”). By the start of Shippuden, Orochimaru has shrunk to about 172 cm tall (5’7”). While it’s unusual to grow shorter over time, isn’t it unusual for someone to be immortal?
9. Rock Lee
Rock Lee rivaled the main characters earlier in the show, but he gradually grew irrelevant as the show progressed. Due to his thin look and tight-fitting attire, Rock Lee looks taller than his actual height.
True to speculations, Rock Lee was much taller than most other members of the Konoha 12 as a genin. He was 5’3” tall (160 cm) in the first part, but his height increased since. By the beginning of the second part of the show, he was 5’8” (172 cm), making him taller than the characters.
10. Itachi Uchiha
Itachi barely appeared in the first part of Naruto, but his only appearance made him a fan-favorite. A tall feat such as bringing down the almighty Uchiha clan almost single handedly requires a tall person.
Understandably, Itachi is comfortably taller than the average Naruto character. He was about 5’9” tall (175 cm) in the first part, and he barely grew taller throughout the series.
11. Madara Uchiha
While Madara was nonexistent in the first part of Naruto, he became the antagonist later in the second part. Since most of Madara’s appearances were of him standing tall above an army, you’d expect him to be tall.
At 5’9” (179 cm), Madara is taller than most characters in Naruto. However, since Madara’s first real appearance was an undead reincarnation, his height stayed pretty stagnant throughout his appearances.
