Industry Insider Reveals the Members of Sam Wilson’s Avengers in ‘Doomsday’
With the latest MCU release, Thunderbolts*, the Marvel Cinematic Universe now appears to have two active Avengers teams. One team, reportedly formed off-screen by Sam Wilson, is set to operate separately from the newly introduced New Avengers, which includes Yelena Belova, Sentry, Red Guardian, Bucky Barnes, and Ghost.
This development adds a layer of complexity to the MCU, and it seems Sam Wilson isn’t too thrilled about the situation. However, given the scale of the looming threats in the MCU, having two Avengers teams might be exactly what the world needs.
While the members of the New Avengers have been revealed, the lineup for Sam Wilson’s Avengers remains uncertain. Still, based on the official Avengers: Doomsday cast announcement, we can make some educated guesses about who might join his team.
Adding to the intrigue, industry insider Alex Perez recently shared a list in his monthly Q&A that appears to reveal some “confirmed” and potential members of Sam Wilson’s Avengers.
The team includes Joaquin Torres, Captain Marvel, Hulk, Wong, and Shang-Chi. He also said that She-Hulk might join the team in the future.
Fans are also wondering about the scale of Shuri’s story in upcoming Avengers movies, considering that she is not mentioned as a part of Wilson’s Avengers.
Perez said it’s too early to say how big Shuri’s role will be in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars. He explained that the Russo brothers, who are making the films, try to give every character an important moment that helps move the story forward.
So it’s not really fair to judge how big or small a character’s part is right now. However, he did mention that Shuri might reach out to Namor and bring him into the story, which could be an important part of her role. Both Namor and Shuri are confirmed to appear in Doomsday, so keep that in mind.
Considering that official news is few and far between, we really need to rely on rumors to piece stuff together.
