Is Hinata Stronger Than Sakura? Who Would Win in a Fight?
There are many beloved female characters in Naruto that can rival some of the most powerful villains in this series. Characters such as Temari, Tenten, Kushina, and Tsunade are all extremely powerful characters, each with their unique jutsu and fighting style. However, two other female characters take most of the screen time among the others. Sakura Haruno and Hinata Hyuga are both amazing and powerful characters that possess a great set of skills. Although both have fought powerful rivals, what would happen if they were to fight? What skills and experience do they have that makes them superior to the other and who would come out victorious, Hinata or Sakura?
If Hinata and Sakura were to fight, Sakura would most likely win. This is not only because of her physical strength but also the long training she did with lady Tsunade, a very experienced ninja who was also the previous Kazekage. She is trained in various broader fields as a ninja compared to Hinata.
But let’s take a look at each of their skills and experience so far as a ninja, from childhood to adulthood, and how they would clash.
Hinata’s power
Although it’s pointed out that Sakura is physically stronger, this does not mean that Hinata herself is weak.
Hinata Hyuga is the firstborn daughter of Hisashi Hyuga, making her the heiress of the Hyuga clan. With this position, her father began personally training her. Having high expectations of his daughter to grow into a strong clan leader, he made her endure long hours of relentless training, often leaving her body too weak and wounded to stand. Because of her fragile and shy nature, she was not only dropped by her clan and disappointed by her father but was also picked on by the other children around her.
However, despite being called weak and a failure to the Hyuga clan, she never turned bitter. Hinata uses her jutsu more to protect the ones she loves than show power.
The Hyuga clan possesses the Byakugan, a kekkei genkai dojutusu from the Otsutsuki clan, who are the ancestors of the Hyuga.
The Byakugan is a Dojutsu given from birth, and usually, a ninja with this Dojutsu is identified through the eyes, which makes them stand out from regular-colored irises. When the Byakugan is used, it causes a rush of blood flow to their eyes, which is why their veins show and bulge around them.
The Byakugan abilities include seeing through any object and giving a clear 360º view of themselves; it can not only see underground but also see a ninja’s chakra in far greater detail and depth than anyone. But the Byakugan can also be blocked by certain barriers that prevent it from seeing through.
However, even though the Byakugan is not like the other Dojutsu and can be present since birth, that does not mean it’s automatically activated. The holder can possess the Byakugan. They cannot use it at will without intensive training. This is something that not all users accomplish. However, the Byakugan− like the Sharingan− can be activated by pressure in stressful enough situations.
It is impressive because Hinata’s Byakugan can be activated and used at her will, even before the chunin exam. Most other users can’t accomplish this feat. She can use the Byakugan wisely and pinpoint her enemy’s weak points before attacking.
Hinata’s fighting style is unique to her clan’s. Still, she can use her original style, The Gentle Twin Step Lion Fists, and the Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm. While she was still learning to use her clan’s most powerful technique called the Eight Trigram sixty−four palms, with Neji’s help, she had full control of it.
Sakura’s power
Unlike Hinata, Sakura does not come from a well−known or necessarily important clan that gives her powerful abilities from birth.
She is the first and only child of Kizashi and Mebuki Haruno. Unlike Hinata, she did not grow up without the stress of any events that would affect her long time, like intensive training. However, other children also picked on her for having a “big forehead.” Although she grew out of the timid phase, she had as a child grew into a fiery personality.
Even though Sakura devoted a lot of her time and energy as a ninja to medicine, one of Sakura’s strongest assets is her physical strength, which she displays countless times throughout the series.
She trained under lady Tsunade for two and a half years, where she gained a lot of medical knowledge, becoming a skilled medical ninja and using her abilities to save lives during the ninja war.
Her enhanced physical strength is also one of her signature abilities taught by the 5th Hokage. Her one-punch move is strong enough to take out the enemy or at least cause some heavy damage. She mostly uses this move to shock her opponent or as a quick move as it saves time during dangerous moments. However, this move takes great chakra control, and the fact that Sakura can use it quickly and efficiently is impressive.
She used this move to battle Sasori, a member of the Akatsuki, by destroying all of his puppets and protecting her daughter Sarada and Sasuke in Boruto. Sakura is also able to summon the Katsuyu, which is something very few can do.
The Katsuyu is a slug-like creature that has amazing healing properties. Sakura summoned Katsuyu in the ninja war alongside Naruto with the nine tails and Sasuke with Garuda.
Sakura is also a great genjutsu user. Even though she does not use it as much as her other abilities, even her teacher, Kakashi Hatake, took notice of her skill in this field in both using it and being immune to it.
Going into more of her medical skills, she’s able to use mystic palm, a technique commonly used by medical ninjas. This technique allows her to use her hands covered in chakra and aim at the specific place of injury or internal illness.
She can also use delicate illness extraction, a much more difficult medical technique. She uses this technique by making a cut in the body and sending the healing power through the body in large amounts.
There is a large variety of techniques that both Hinata and Sakura have learned to use throughout their time as a ninja in training and battle, ranging from small moves to complicated jutsus that frequently were life-saving. Both of them have fought powerful enemies at a young age, Hinata fighting Pain to protect Naruto and Sakura beating Sasori in battle alongside granny Chiyo.
Both of these characters are greatly appreciated not only for their strength but their will too. Both have the drive to become more skilled ninjas, even if it’s for different reasons. Hinata is driven by th need to protect those close to her, and Sakura’s stubbornness to be better than before drives her to be a higher-level ninja in more ways than just combat.
