Exciting casting news has emerged for the Marvel series ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ as actor Jack Mulhern signs on for a series regular role in its third season. He will play a mysterious character known for now as Philip, though it remains unclear whether that is his actual name or perhaps a codename. Philip comes across as a sharp and resourceful New Yorker with a genuinely warm and endearing personality, yet he harbors a deeper, more intense anger beneath the surface. This layered description hints at a complex figure who could bring fresh dynamics to the show’s intense street-level storytelling.

Mulhern brings a solid resume to the project, having delivered memorable performances in shows like Netflix’s ‘Painkiller’ and HBO’s ‘Mare of Easttown’. He has also appeared in films such as ‘Pet Sematary: Bloodlines’ and ‘The Boys in the Boat’, plus the series ‘Wu-Tang: An American Saga’. His experience in dramatic roles suggests he is well-suited to handle the emotional depth and moral ambiguity often found in the Daredevil universe. Fans are already speculating about who Philip might turn out to be in the broader Marvel Comics lore.

Some theories point toward Mulhern portraying a character connected to Wilson Fisk, such as Richard Fisk, also known as the Rose, who debuted in comics as a crime lord and son of the Kingpin. Another possibility is Butch Pharris, introduced more recently in the comics as Fisk’s illegitimate son with ties to childhood events involving alternate versions of Matt Murdock. Of course, Philip could also be an original creation tailored for the series or a blend of existing elements to surprise audiences. Whatever the truth, the role includes options for future appearances, signaling that this character may play a significant part moving forward.

The revival of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ continues the legacy of the original Netflix series while integrating into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, the blind vigilante Daredevil, joined by familiar faces like Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Vincent D’Onofrio as the formidable Wilson Fisk Kingpin, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, and Wilson Bethel as the deadly Bullseye Benjamin Poindexter. Krysten Ritter is also set to reprise Jessica Jones in a recurring capacity during season two.

Production details indicate that season three will film in New York City from March through July 2026, following a similar schedule to the previous installment. Dario Scardapane remains the showrunner and executive producer, keeping the tone grounded and character-driven. With season two scheduled to arrive on Disney+ in March of this year, the third season is expected to premiere in March 2027 as part of the MCU’s Phase Six.

This addition of Mulhern adds another layer of intrigue to an already compelling lineup. What do you think Philip’s true identity might be, and how could he shake up the world of Daredevil? Share your theories in the comments.
