Lili Reinhart has transformed her press tour into a genuine fashion showcase, using each appearance to celebrate the rom-coms that have influenced a generation. From a yellow satin gown reminiscent of ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ to a custom Rodarte creation inspired by ‘Ever After,’ the actress has turned her promotional journey for the upcoming film into a heartfelt tribute to the genre.

This approach aligns perfectly with the project at hand. ‘The Love Hypothesis‘ adapts Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling novel, following Olive Smith, a brilliant Ph.D. candidate whose impulsive kiss with the intimidating professor Adam Carlsen leads to a fake relationship that begins to blur the lines between performance and reality.

This week, Reinhart’s meticulously planned press tour reached a pinnacle at ‘The Love Hypothesis’ New York premiere, where she wowed attendees in a stunning pink and green floral gown, featuring a dramatic train and delicate beaded detailing throughout the bodice and skirt.

For the star-studded New York event, celebrity stylist Ib Abdel Nasser dressed Reinhart in a breathtaking archival gown from the Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2004 Couture collection. The ethereal piece showcased soft pink chiffon layered with intricate green vine embroidery and shimmering beads, complemented by a daring high slit that added a modern twist to the vintage design.

Nasser opted for minimal accessories, allowing the gown’s exquisite craftsmanship to shine. Reinhart styled her blonde hair in loose, effortless waves with a clean center part, completing the look with subtle eye makeup, flushed cheeks, and glossy pink lips.

This choice aligns with Reinhart’s overall strategy throughout the campaign, favoring archival and vintage pieces over contemporary styles to create red carpet moments that feel timeless rather than fleeting. This tactic has already generated significant online buzz ahead of the film’s release.

The New York gown adds to a growing list of standout looks from Reinhart’s promotional tour. In Brazil, she donned a vintage Roberto Cavalli gown with a dramatic halter neckline and gold sequin beadwork, followed by a recreation of the iconic yellow dress from ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ that fans quickly recognized.

For the London premiere, Reinhart chose a blue and purple slip gown from Emanuel Ungaro’s Spring 2001 collection, adorned with crystals that embraced a Y2K mermaid vibe. She also unveiled a custom silver Rodarte piece that paid homage to Drew Barrymore’s fairy dress from ‘Ever After: A Cinderella Story,’ originally designed for the 2025 Vogue World: Hollywood television special.

Even her more casual press appearances have carried thematic significance. At an event called “The Olive Soft Launch” on August 27, Nasser dressed Reinhart in a pink cardigan and ivory skort set from Australian label Leo Lin, accessorized with peep-toe mules, a Valentino bag, and a $900 pink pear-cut ring from Bondeye Jewelry.

The film itself is set to premiere on Prime Video on September 23, reaching over 240 countries and territories worldwide as one of the platform’s most anticipated romantic releases this year. Directed by Claire Scanlon and scripted by Sarah Rothschild, the adaptation also stars Tom Bateman as Adam Carlsen, alongside Rachel Marsh, Nicholas Duvernay, Jaboukie Young-White, and Arty Froushan.

Hazelwood’s original novel spent an impressive 40 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list following its 2021 release and has been sold in 40 countries, giving the film adaptation a built-in audience eager to see Olive and Adam’s story come to life. With the press tour concluding in style and the official release just around the corner, all signs indicate that ‘The Love Hypothesis’ will be one of the fall’s standout streaming events.
