Marvel Reportedly Hiding 8 to 9 Surprise Actors in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Marvel fans are buzzing with speculation about which surprise characters might make an appearance in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, following a recent report that claims several actors have secretly filmed scenes for the film.
According to insights shared by Alex Perez during a Q&A on The Cosmic Circus, there are reportedly “8-9 more” actors linked to the film who have yet to be officially announced by Marvel Studios.
This comment came in response to a fan’s inquiry about the potential return of familiar MCU characters, including Wong.
Perez noted, “There’s at least 8-9 more that haven’t been confirmed yet that I know have filmed things on set.”
This statement has ignited online speculation, especially as ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is shaping up to be one of Marvel’s most significant crossover events. The film is expected to unite heroes and characters from various Marvel universes, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Wakandans, and even figures from the earlier X-Men films.
The film will see Robert Downey Jr. returning to the Marvel universe, but this time in a completely different role. Instead of reprising his iconic Iron Man character, Downey is set to portray Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most notorious villains. The movie is directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, who previously helmed ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’
Marvel has already confirmed a star-studded cast, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, and Ian McKellen returning as Magneto.
Several actors from the original X-Men films are also making a comeback, such as Patrick Stewart as Professor X, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique. The film appears to focus heavily on the concept of different universes colliding.
Given this premise, fans speculate that the unconfirmed actors could include a wide range of characters from Marvel’s extensive history. Online theories are already circulating about possible appearances from characters like Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, Deadpool, Scarlet Witch, or even older Marvel movie characters from outside the MCU timeline.
The production of the movie has already undergone significant changes. Initially, Marvel intended to create ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ as the next major crossover event. However, due to legal issues involving actor Jonathan Majors, the studio reportedly shifted gears and moved away from the Kang storyline.
This ultimately led to the return of the Russo brothers and the introduction of Doctor Doom as the franchise’s next major antagonist. Marvel officially announced the new title, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, in 2024.
Filming reportedly took place between April and September 2025 at Pinewood Studios in England, along with additional location shoots in Bahrain. With production wrapped, it seems Marvel is keen on keeping several surprise appearances under wraps until closer to the release date.
As of now, Marvel has not officially confirmed the rumored mystery actors. However, the report from The Cosmic Circus has only heightened the excitement surrounding a film that already boasts one of the largest casts in superhero movie history.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is currently set to hit theaters on December 18.
