Marvel enthusiasts are treated to another glimpse of Doctor Doom in anticipation of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, with the latest reveal coming through a new collectible set for D23.

Collider has exclusively unveiled the upcoming Iron Studios figures, featuring a new MiniCo version of Doctor Doom. This collectible showcases Robert Downey Jr.’s iconic villain, although it doesn’t provide much insight into his role in the film.

This figure is crafted exclusively for D23 and boasts a special metallic paint finish designed specifically for the event, distinguishing it from other Doctor Doom collectibles previously showcased.

One notable detail is the yellow or gold armband that appears on the figure, which has also been featured in prior ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ merchandise. While Marvel has yet to clarify its significance, the recurring presence of the armband hints at its potential connection to a crucial aspect of the movie’s narrative.

The armband may relate to Latveria, the fictional nation governed by Doctor Doom, but this remains speculative. Neither Marvel nor Iron Studios has disclosed the reason for this design element appearing on the character.

This isn’t the first time Iron Studios has utilized collectibles to provide fans with a closer look at ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. At San Diego Comic-Con, the company previously showcased figures featuring Doctor Doom, Professor X, and Magneto, offering fans an early glimpse at several key characters expected to play significant roles in the upcoming Marvel crossover.

The D23 reveal adds another piece to this evolving puzzle.

Iron Studios is also celebrating Walt Disney at the event with two exclusive collectibles. One is a limited-edition 1/10 scale statue depicting Disney in his office, surrounded by elements tied to his work and the early plans for Disney World.

According to Iron Studios’ official press notes, this statue will be limited to 500 pieces worldwide, featuring details recreated from Walt Disney’s office, including the phrase “To all who come to this happy place, welcome,” inscribed on the back of the wood.

The second Walt Disney MiniCo figure highlights the early concepts for what was known as the Florida project, showcasing the drawing board behind Disney that illustrates the vision that would eventually evolve into Walt Disney World.

Iron Studios stated that the project was developed in collaboration with Disney, and their team visited Walt Disney’s office to ensure the recreation’s accuracy.

The Disney collectibles also feature beloved characters like Goofy, Pluto, and the Sorcerer’s Apprentice version of Mickey Mouse around the Florida project figure, while another collectible showcases various designs of Mickey Mouse.

For Marvel fans, however, the highlight will likely be Doctor Doom. As ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ approaches, every new piece of merchandise is scrutinized for potential clues about the film.

‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is set to hit theaters on December 18. For now, the new Iron Studios figure offers fans another look at Doctor Doom, leaving the meaning of his enigmatic gold armband still a mystery.
