Mckenna Grace Shares Stylish New Photos Ahead of ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’ Release

Few young actors have achieved as much in their careers as Mckenna Grace. Hailing from Grapevine, Texas, she began her professional acting journey at just 5 years old, transitioning from sitcoms and soap operas to prestigious television and major franchise films.

Her breakout role came with ‘Gifted’ in 2017, earning her a Critics’ Choice nomination for Best Young Performer. Following that, she appeared in ‘I, Tonya’ and ‘Captain Marvel’, and was dubbed a scream queen after her performances in ‘The Haunting of Hill House’ and ‘Annabelle Comes Home’. Her role in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ garnered her an Emmy nomination, making her the first child actor recognized for a guest acting Emmy.

Now, at 20 years old, she is back in the limelight with a fresh collection of newly released photos. In one image, she poses in a hotel hallway wearing a blush-toned mini dress adorned with floral embellishments, round sunglasses, a long ponytail, and strappy heels. Another shot features her taking a mirror selfie in a pale yellow long-sleeved mini dress with a belted waist, paired with white platform heels and a small cream handbag, with a lilac suitcase beside her.

The suitcase and hotel backdrop suggest a busy travel schedule, which aligns with her recent activities. Photo galleries from early October show her in Paris, where she attended the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2027 show on October 4 and greeted fans outside her hotel the next day. On October 6, she participated in an event at Musée Rodin titled Elegance Is Authority: The Story, Style, And Power Of Panem, a title that references the world of ‘The Hunger Games’.

This Panem connection is significant as Grace prepares for her next major role. She portrays Maysilee Donner, a District 12 tribute and owner of the Mockingjay pin, in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’. Additionally, she plays Merrilee Donner, Maysilee’s twin sister, with the film set to hit theaters on November 20.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel, the story unfolds 24 years before the original ‘The Hunger Games’. It dramatizes the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Joseph Zada plays a young Haymitch Abernathy, Ralph Fiennes returns as a younger version of President Snow, and Elle Fanning appears as Effie Trinket.

The cast is impressive, featuring Glenn Close as Drusilla, Effie’s Capitol escort predecessor, alongside Kieran Culkin, Jesse Plemons, Maya Hawke, and Whitney Peak. The first teaser was released exactly one year before the premiere, and many fans remarked that it felt unlike anything the franchise had previously offered.

Grace’s schedule has been just as busy outside of Panem. Earlier this year, she starred in ‘Scream 7’ as Hannah Thurman, which achieved the largest domestic opening weekend in the franchise’s 30-year history. This followed her roles in ‘Regretting You’ and ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s 2’ in 2025.

She also lent her voice to Skye in ‘PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie’, showcasing her range beyond horror. This versatility has become her hallmark, making her one of the most sought-after actors of her generation.

Her talents extend beyond acting; she wrote, executive produced, and starred in ‘The Bad Seed Returns’ in 2022, and collaborated with Ice Nine Kills on a chart-topping track for the ‘Scream 7’ soundtrack. Next, she is set to portray Daphne Blake in Netflix’s upcoming live-action ‘Scooby-Doo’ series.
