One of the best parts of Naruto was the lore of the anime – the hidden villages, ninjutsu, and the overall mythos behind the origins of the Ninja World. However, the most interesting thing about the Naruto series is how even the supporting characters were interesting and were shown as impactful factors of the anime lore. One of them was Hashirama Senju, one of the founders of the Konohagakure, First Hokage, and proclaimed the God of Shinobi. Despite Hashirama being extremely powerful and important, Naruto Uzumaki showed that he could reach the heights and impact the Shinobi World like his predecessors. This article will pit Hashirama and Naruto against each other and proclaim who would win in a one-on-one fight.

Naruto would beat Hashirama in their fight. The power of Kyuubi chakra is immensely strong, especially in the context of the battle since Kurama lends Naruto its own chakra. Hashirama is insanely powerful and has shown prowess in his fight against Madara and Kurama. Still, Naruto’s good relations with the Nine-Tailed Beast, and Sage of Six Paths chakra, overwhelms the legendary God of Shinobi.

We will discuss this topic further by comparing the powerful shinobi in each ninja category starting with prowess in ninjutsu, senjutsu, kenjutsu, and more. We will use the best-of-seven metric for this article, and the winner is the one who gets first to the fourth point. If you are interested in this epic battle, stay with us until the end of the article.

Ninjutsu

We don’t have to introduce Naruto or Hashirama that much because their reputation and ninja prowess made them the best of all time. The first category of this battle is ninjutsu, one of three main jutsu categories. In this case, ninjutsu doesn’t have anything to do with taijutsu and genjutsu, which we will mention further.

Let’s start with Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage and one of the founders of Konohagakure that sparked the Five Great Shinobi Countries. He was considered the strongest shinobi of all time, and his jutsu could only be matched by Madara Uchiha. Hashirama’s Wood Style was unique for decades until Orochimaru stole his DNA and used it for experimenting, with only Yamato surviving and using the Wood Style jutsu.

Of course, Wood Style requires a combination of earth and water-natured chakra, but Hashirama could use every nature available. Hashirama used his Wood Style to seal the Ten-Tailed Beast. The name of the jutsu is quite long “Hokage-Style Sixty-Year-Old Technique — Kakuan Entering Society with Bliss-Bringing Hands.” He is an incredible ninjutsu user who was the strongest shinobi for a very long time.

Naruto wasn’t talented like Hashirama, but he truly proved his worth in his teens when he became the hero of the Shinobi World. Naruto’s prowess in ninjutsu mostly includes Rasengan, which he learned from Jiraiya but upgraded multiple times in the series. Despite Hashirama having enormous chakra and ninjutsu prowess, Naruto reached the biggest power levels during the Great Shinobi War, which even resurrected Hashirama acknowledged. Hashirama is powerful, but Naruto’s Kyuubi chakra, ninjutsu, and Sage of Six Paths chakra overwhelm Hashirama.

Naruto’s Sage Art: Super Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken jutsu is considered the ultimate technique and most marvelous ninjutsu of all time. Naruto gets the point in this section.

Genjutsu

This category implies Illusionary Techniques, which is one of the main jutsu categories in the Naruto series. Genjutsu is vastly different from ordinary ninjutsu because its effects of it are not real. It falls under the Yin Release and can be one of the most devastating jutsu in Ninja World. Let’s start with Hashirama. According to the Naruto series, Hashirama could cast a genjutsu on par with Madara Uchiha and Hiruzen Sarutobi. This fact is actually telling a lot about Hashirama’s prowess, who mostly used ninjutsu and senjutsu in his battles.

In that sense, Naruto is initially limited; during his training with Jiraiya, he learns how to break it. However, after befriending Kurama, Naruto could be immune to genjutsu and cast a decent genjutsu, as seen in the Boruto series. Taking it all into account, Hashirama is more skilled than Naruto in that department, and for that, we will give the point to the First Hokage.

Senjutsu

Now we get to the interesting part because both shinobi are really good at senjutsu. Hashirama is definitely skillful in this department since he is the descendant of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and has all chakra natures; Hashirama can use the Sage Mode instantly which is a great feat. In the Sage Mode, Hashirama can perform many amazing jutsus, including sealing Ten-Tails, and the Sage Art Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands – huge wooden constructs that are very powerful.

In Naruto’s case, he was a formidable Sage Mode user who could enter the complete mode instantaneously. He had amazing chakra balance, which made him a powerful shinobi. However, the moment Naruto became the most powerful shinobi on Earth was when Hagoromo passed Naruto his Sage of Six Paths chakra. The Sage of Six Paths made Naruto truly powerful and, combined with Kyuubi chakra, Naruto defeats Hashirama in a fight. This section goes in favor of Naruto.

Naruto (2) : 1 Hashirama

Kenjutsu and other weaponry

Kenjutsu is a jutsu category that includes the prowess of shinobi in wielding weapons. In Hashirama’s case, he was skilled in kenjutsu, particularly bukijutsu, special weaponry shinobi carry in seals. Hashirama was known to wield weapons incredibly well, and some say he was on par with Madara Uchiha.

Naruto usually doesn’t use weapons that much besides the common kunai, but over the years, former Konoha’s troublemaker gained pretty great skill in fūinjutsu and shurikenjutsu that he uses as an adult as well. In this section, the duo will split the points since both Naruto and Hashirama have great strength in the weapon category.

Greatest feats

This section will see the greatest feats of each individual. Let’s start with Hashirama. Of course, the First Hokage was responsible for bringing peace after the turbulent Warring States Period that marked many fatalities of shinobi, especially young children. After seeing his brother and many more children dying on the battlefield, Hashirama dreamed of a world where shinobi have a future and don’t die before they come of age.

Hashirama and Tobirama decided to reunite with their long rival Madara and his clan and formed the first Hidden Village – Konohagakure. This event prompted the foundation of other hidden villages, and eventually, the Five Great Shinobi Countries. Besides being one of the main reasons why Ninja World exists, Hashirama was responsible for establishing a great community and the “ninja way,” The Will of Fire.

Despite trying to hold on to peace, Hashirama encountered many attacks on his village, mostly from his best friend and rival, Madara Uchiha. Madara’s last attempt to attack Konohagakure happened with the help of the Nine-Tail Beast, which Hashirama subdued and ultimately defeated Madara. He later sealed the beast in Uzumaki Mito, who will eventually pass the beast to Kushina, then Naruto.

All in all, Hashirama established the basics of the modern Ninja World and prepared his successor and brother Tobirama for the future leadership of Konohagakure. Hashirama became the God of Shinobi and was the most powerful ninja in the world.

In his feats, Naruto is more similar to Hashirama than we think but arguably has more powerful opponents. As genin, he managed to subdue Haku and Zabuza, unhinged Gaara of the Sand, and Orochimaru’s Sound Ninjas. In his teens, Naruto encountered many enemies and defeated them – Akatsuki, Orochimaru, Pain, Obito, Sasuke, Madara Uchiha, and the literal god Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. However, Naruto’s biggest strength was always Speak-no-jutsu, the power of motivational speech, and the “ability” for his allies and even enemies to “root” for him.

In the end, Naruto’s biggest strength and feat is bringing peace to the Ninja World and letting it heal after decades of nonstop conflicts. Despite the importance of Hashirama, Naruto takes the last point of this contest.

Naruto VS Hashirama – who wins?

Hashirama was the founder of the first hidden village, which kickstarted the first shinobi countries, and the protector of the Ninja World from inner and outer evils. His allies and enemies called him a God of Shinobi for a reason, and his amazing and immense ninja skills definitely earned him that title. Hashirama has beaten Madara, who proclaimed the First Hokage the most powerful shinobi of all time. Despite all these great feats and skills, Naruto would win against Hashirama, who became the most powerful ninja of all time.

The Sage of Six Paths chakra, Kyuubi, and just prowess in ninjutsu make Naruto incredibly powerful and shinobi that could take on anyone.
