NBC has officially announced the return of one of its standout comedy series, confirming a second season for ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins’. This renewal comes after a successful first season marked by impressive ratings, positive reviews, and consistent audience growth throughout its weekly airings.

The series follows a former sports star as he attempts to restore his public image following a significant downfall. The narrative focuses on his journey to reconnect with his past, mend broken relationships, and regain the respect he once commanded. A filmmaker character documents this journey, blending personal reflection with satire.

Tracy Morgan stars in the lead role, with Daniel Radcliffe co-starring as the documentary filmmaker who plays a crucial role in the athlete’s rehabilitation. The ensemble cast also features Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall, showcasing a mix of seasoned comedians and emerging talent.

The series premiered in January, strategically launched after a major NFL playoff game, which helped it attract a wide audience right from the start. Reports indicated that the premiere episode garnered over 14 million viewers, with episodes airing weekly until the season concluded in April.

The show has particularly resonated with younger audiences, ranking among the top new comedies of the 2025–2026 broadcast season for adults aged 18 to 49. It has also received critical acclaim, achieving a rare perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes based on early reviews.

Critics have praised Tracy Morgan’s return to a leading comedy role, with Variety’s Alison Herman noting his strong presence and drawing comparisons to his earlier television work.

Created by Robert Carlock and Sam Means, who have collaborated closely with Tina Fey on past projects, the series also counts Fey among its executive producers, alongside Morgan, Eric Gurian, David Miner, and others. It is produced by Universal Television in partnership with several production companies.

The renewal announcement came ahead of NBCUniversal’s upcoming upfront presentation, where the network is set to reveal its full programming strategy for the next season. Alongside this comedy, NBC has also renewed several major dramas and long-running franchises, reflecting a commitment to established audience favorites and reliable performers.

With the second season officially on the way, ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins’ is poised to build on its initial success, expanding its narrative and delving deeper into the main character’s quest to rebuild his life and reputation.
