‘Neagley’ Trailer Released Frances Neagley to Investigate a Cult
The ‘Reacher’ universe has consistently featured Frances Neagley alongside Alan Ritchson’s iconic character. As the only character besides Ritchson’s Jack Reacher to appear in every season of the popular Prime Video series, Neagley has become a beloved figure, earning the support of fans just as much as Reacher himself.
Now, that loyalty is being rewarded with her own series. Maria Sten, who has portrayed Neagley since the second season, is stepping into the spotlight in a standalone spinoff that expands the ‘Reacher’ universe beyond its main hero for the first time.
Prime Video has unveiled the official poster and full trailer for ‘Neagley,’ confirming that the show will premiere with all eight episodes on September 16, coinciding with the Season 4 finale of ‘Reacher.’ This timing positions the spinoff as a direct continuation of the flagship series’ momentum rather than a separate launch.
The trailer begins with Ritchson’s Reacher assisting Neagley in taking down a knife-wielding suspect, showcasing the strong bond between the two former Army colleagues before Neagley embarks on her own journey. According to the official logline, Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago and a former protégé of Reacher from the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. The plot kicks off when a friend from her past is killed in what is initially deemed an accident.
Unwilling to accept the official narrative, Neagley applies her military training and experience working with Reacher to investigate the death herself. Her inquiry leads her to a farm that employs recovering addicts and unhoused individuals, run by a charismatic leader portrayed by “Justified” alum Damon Herriman, who the trailer suggests may be involved in something much darker than a simple rehabilitation program.
The supporting cast features Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, and Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow, creating a distinct world for Neagley that separates her from Reacher’s usual circle. The trailer emphasizes intense hand-to-hand combat and investigative tension, maintaining a tone consistent with the flagship series while allowing Neagley’s unique skills as a former special investigator to shine.

Behind the scenes, the series is produced by “Reacher” showrunner Nick Santora, who developed it alongside Nicholas Wootton, with both serving as co-showrunners and executive producers. Lee Child, whose novels form the basis of the “Reacher” franchise, is also attached as an executive producer, along with Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs, and Lisa Kussner, with Hill directing the first two episodes.
The trailer’s release coincides with an active period for the franchise, arriving just as ‘Reacher’ Season 4 premiered on August 12, starting with three episodes before continuing weekly. This overlap sets up a steady stream of content for fans in the coming weeks, culminating in ‘Neagley’s’ full-season drop right as the current ‘Reacher’ season concludes.
Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, ‘Neagley’ will be available globally across more than 240 countries and territories, marking the franchise’s widest simultaneous release yet. With the trailer hinting at cult intrigue, personal stakes, and Ritchson’s brief but impactful cameo, expectations are high for Neagley to successfully lead her own series.
