Pamela Anderson has opened up about her feelings regarding the limited series ‘Pam & Tommy’ and the people involved in its creation. She recently sat down for an interview with ‘Variety’ to discuss her career and the unauthorized retelling of her life. The actress revealed that she had previous interactions with Seth Rogen that left her feeling quite uncomfortable. Rogen served as a producer on the show and also portrayed the character Rand Gauthier.

The specific memory causing this unease stems from a time she encountered Rogen well before the series was developed. Anderson claims she met the actor and producer at a party years ago. She alleges that he made a crude comment about keeping her stolen tape in his personal collection. The actress recalled him calling it a part of his spank bank. This remark suggested he was one of the many people who viewed the private footage for entertainment.

Rogen played a significant role in bringing the story of the stolen tape to the screen for a modern audience. He portrayed the electrician who stole the private recording from the home Anderson shared with Tommy Lee. Anderson feels that the creators of the show were complicit in exploiting a traumatic event from her past. The show was marketed as a way to vindicate her but she feels it was just another violation.

The ‘Baywatch’ star emphasized that she has never watched ‘Pam & Tommy’ and has no intention of doing so. She expressed frustration that the show went into production without her consent or input. The series starred Lily James as Anderson and Sebastian Stan as the Mötley Crüe drummer. Anderson made it clear that she does not blame the actors for taking the roles.

She specifically mentioned that she reached out to Lily James to ensure the actress did not feel personally attacked. Anderson understands that actors have a job to do and often view these roles as a challenge. Her grievance lies entirely with the production team and the people who decided to profit from her pain. The renewed attention forced her to relive a very difficult period in her life.

In her candid conversation with ‘Variety’ she explained how the theft of the tape derailed her career and personal life. The release of the series brought all those old feelings back to the surface without her permission. She described the experience of the show’s release as having salt poured into her old wounds. The narrative presented in the show simply did not align with her actual lived experience during that tumultuous time.

Anderson is now focused on telling her own story on her own terms through a new documentary and memoir. She wants to reclaim her agency after decades of being a punchline or an object of public scrutiny. Her goal is to define herself rather than letting others define her history. The comments made by Rogen in the past clearly stuck with her as an example of the disrespect she faced.
