Patrick J. Adams Advocates for ‘Suits’ Revival Featuring Meghan Markle’s Character
Patrick J. Adams has openly shared his vision for a potential Suits revival, which would see the return of several beloved characters from the original series, including Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane.
On Friday, July 3, Adams took to his Instagram Stories to present a detailed pitch for a new storyline in the legal drama. In his concept, his character Mike Ross and Rachel Zane join forces on a significant legal case involving a powerful artificial intelligence company. He described it as, “Mike [Ross, played by Adams] and Rachel [Zane, played by Meghan] are working on a class action suit against a giant AI company…”
Adams elaborated on the plot, suggesting that this case could bring to light unresolved issues from the past related to the original firm, Pearson Hardman. He indicated that the consequences of previous decisions could jeopardize several main characters, including Harvey Specter, Donna Paulsen, Jessica Pearson, and Louis Litt, as their personal and professional lives might be impacted if past actions were revealed.
He mentioned that Mike’s strong sense of justice would reunite the group. Adams proposed that the revival could center on the team addressing past mistakes while navigating a modern legal landscape influenced by technology and corporate power. He humorously noted that familiar elements from the original show, such as character humor, relationship developments, and even potential spinoff stories in different cities, could be included. He concluded his pitch with, “Sort of writes itself. Let’s go. I’m ready.”
In a follow-up post, Adams clarified that he is not aware of any official revival plans. He stated that, to his knowledge, there are no active projects involving the original cast’s return, especially following the cancellation of the spinoff Suits: LA.
Despite this, he remains optimistic about the potential for a reunion, citing the enduring popularity of the original series. Suits, which aired from 2011 to 2019 on USA Network, experienced a significant resurgence in popularity after its arrival on Netflix in 2023, quickly climbing streaming charts and attracting a new audience to the legal drama years after its finale.
The series followed Mike Ross, a brilliant college dropout who lands a job at a prestigious New York law firm despite never attending law school. It also featured Gabriel Macht as Harvey Specter, Sarah Rafferty as Donna Paulsen, Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt, and Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane.
The renewed interest in the show even led to the creation of Suits: LA, a spinoff focused on a new group of characters in Los Angeles. However, that series was canceled after one season in 2025.
Despite the cancellation, Adams has previously expressed interest in reuniting the original cast in some capacity, including the possibility of a Suits movie. While nothing has been officially confirmed, his latest pitch indicates that there is still strong enthusiasm for reviving the franchise among at least some of its original cast.
