Marvel enthusiasts are receiving exciting insights about ‘Vision Quest’, which appears to delve deeply into Vision’s identity crisis while reintroducing one of the MCU’s most legendary villains, Ultron.

This information stems from an interview with Paul Bettany, who portrays Vision in the Marvel universe. During a chat with Josh Horowitz, he provided fans with a glimpse of what to anticipate from the upcoming Disney+ series, all while keeping spoilers to a minimum.

When directly asked if Ultron might appear in human form in the series, Bettany refrained from giving a definitive answer but playfully suggested that fans should stay tuned.

“I think that would be beyond my pay grade to tell you, [but] worth sticking around for.”

Bettany noted that the dynamic between Vision and Ultron plays a significant role in the narrative. The series picks up after the events of ‘WandaVision’, where White Vision regains his memories and departs to discover his true identity.

In ‘Vision Quest’, Vision embarks on a journey to reconstruct his sense of self while grappling with the emotional burdens of his past. Throughout this journey, he will encounter various artificial intelligence characters from Marvel lore, including Ultron.

Bettany described the series as both a continuation and a fresh endeavor. He characterized it as part of a broader narrative while also standing out as its own distinct project.

“It manages to feel very much like it’s somehow part of [the MCU], an end to a trilogy, whilst also being very much its own thing. And it is just really good. I’m really proud of it,” he expressed.

He also commended the post-production efforts, stating that the series has only improved as visual effects and editing come together.

“We’ve been in editorial for a long while now, and I keep seeing cuts of it that just are getting better and better,” Bettany remarked. “It’s funny, and it’s moving, and it’s super exciting.”

A major talking point surrounding the show is the return of Ultron, once again portrayed by James Spader. The character, who first appeared in ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, is anticipated to play a more significant emotional role in Vision’s narrative.

Bettany praised the opportunity to work with Spader again, highlighting that his performance is a standout aspect of the series.

“He is delicious. He’s so funny in this. It’s so delicious to watch him. And we loved working together. I loved it so much,” he shared.

When pressed for additional details about Ultron’s involvement, Bettany remained cautious but confirmed that the character is intricately linked to the story.

“The story largely revolves around that relationship. And it’s really fun. It’s fun stuff.”

Reports also suggest that Ultron may manifest in multiple forms, including a potential human version showcased during early Disney presentations. However, Marvel has yet to officially confirm these details.

The series is set to explore Vision’s fractured identity, particularly following his time as White Vision. It will also weave in threads left from ‘WandaVision’ and may connect to other future Marvel projects.

Bettany also mentioned how Marvel often keeps even its actors in the dark regarding significant plot points. He recounted instances where surprises are revealed only during filming or post-production.

At this point, ‘Vision Quest’ remains one of the most enigmatic upcoming Marvel projects. However, based on Bettany’s remarks, it promises to blend emotional storytelling, sci-fi concepts, and the complex history between Vision and Ultron in a significant way.
