Popular Industry Insider Thinks He Knows How Doctor Doom Will Take on X-Men in the Upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Avengers: Doomsday is the next big chapter in the MCU, following Avengers: Endgame. The film brings together heroes like Thor, Captain America, Black Panther, the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and many more. It also introduces a new villain, Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., who once played Iron Man.
Filming for Avengers: Doomsday started last month. It’s taking place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. The movie is being shot under the secret name “Apple Pie 1” to keep things quiet. Filming will last for about six months. Jeffrey Ford, who has worked on other Marvel movies, will be the editor for this film.
Former X-Men stars like Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart were revealed to be reprising their iconic roles, alongside James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Alan Cumming.
We knew since that reveal that X-Men will be a massive part of the movie, and the subsequent set leaks showcased several iconic things related to the superhero team, chief among them being what appears to be the courtyard of X-Mansion and Sentinels.
Now, industry insider Daniel Richtman reported on his Patreon that he thinks that those Sentinels will be utilized by Doctor Doom to fight the X-Men.
However, this is not exactly a new “rumor.” Several weeks back one source reported seeing Sentinels fighting Sue Storm, Shang-Chi, Deadpool, Gambit and other X-Men, so he was perhaps inspired by this.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. The film’s sequel, Secret Wars, is set to be released on December 17, 2027.
