Prime Video Confirms ‘Invincible’ Season 6 Renewal Ahead of Season 5 Release
Prime Video’s beloved adult animated superhero series ‘Invincible’ is set to continue its thrilling journey for years to come. The show has officially been renewed for Season 6, providing fans with the exciting news that the story will persist even before Season 5 premieres in 2027.
This announcement was made during the Prime Video Studio Focus panel at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where ‘Invincible’ co-creator Robert Kirkman discussed the series’ future. According to Skybound Entertainment, the company behind the franchise, this renewal positions ‘Invincible’ as one of the longest-running animated original series on a streaming platform.
The early renewal for Season 6 marks another significant milestone for the animated series, which first debuted on Prime Video in 2021. Since its launch, ‘Invincible’ has garnered a substantial global following and has emerged as one of the platform’s most successful original animated offerings.
The series is based on the comic book created by Robert Kirkman and Cory Walker, with Ryan Ottley later joining as a contributing creator. The comic ran for 15 years through Image Comics, encompassing 146 issues and selling over 6 million copies worldwide.
The animated adaptation has seen a rise in popularity, with episodes available in more than 240 countries and territories. Season 4, which premiered in March, became the most-watched season of the series to date and achieved another perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Following the conclusion of the latest season, the ‘Invincible’ franchise expanded beyond television with the release of ‘Invincible VS’, a video game based on the superhero universe. According to Skybound, the game attracted over 1 million players within its first two weeks.
Kirkman expressed his enthusiasm about the show’s future, crediting both fans and the creative team for the series’ ongoing success.

“One of the biggest rewards of building ‘Invincible’ over the years has been witnessing how new audiences continue to connect with these characters and this world, almost 25 years after its creation,” Kirkman stated.
He also praised the behind-the-scenes team and hinted that there is still much more story to explore.
“There’s still so much story left to tell, and I can’t wait for fans to see what’s ahead in seasons 5, 6 and beyond,” Kirkman added.
Skybound Entertainment CEO David Alpert also discussed the significance of developing franchises that can expand across various entertainment forms. He explained that ‘Invincible’s’ success stems from having a robust story that resonates in multiple mediums, including comics, television, and video games.
“We founded Skybound on the idea of investing in original stories with the creative depth and flexibility to thrive across every medium,” Alpert remarked.
The series boasts a stellar voice cast, featuring Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson/Invincible, alongside Sandra Oh, J.K. Simmons, Gillian Jacobs, Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Aaron Paul, and many other prominent actors.
‘Invincible’ is produced by Skybound Animation, with Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Simon Racioppa, Margaret M. Dean, Cory Walker, Dan Duncan, Shaun O’Neill, Catherine Winder, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg serving as executive producers.
More information about Seasons 5 and 6, including release dates and story details, will be revealed at a later time. For now, fans can anticipate more superhero chaos, epic battles, and unexpected twists as ‘Invincible’ continues its record-breaking run on Prime Video.
