Prime Video is making a significant push to engage young adult viewers, complemented by a live fan event aimed at connecting audiences with its upcoming shows and movies.

As announced by Amazon MGM Studios, the initiative is titled “Obsession Is In Session.” This effort aims to establish Prime Video as a premier destination for YA content while fostering stronger fan communities around its narratives.

In line with this strategy, the streamer is hosting its inaugural fan event, Obsessed Fest, set to occur on June 27 in Los Angeles at nya Studios. The event will spotlight upcoming YA films and series from Prime Video.

Designed as an immersive experience, the event will offer fans early previews of new projects, opportunities to meet cast members and creators, and interactive activities centered around various shows and stories. The lineup features titles such as ‘The Love Hypothesis,’ ‘Every Year After,’ ‘Elle,’ ‘Off Campus,’ ‘Overcompensating,’ ‘Your Fault: London,’ and ‘Drawn Together,’ along with other forthcoming YA projects.

The event will also include various themed spaces, live sessions with talent, a literary area for author talks and book signings, and set recreations allowing fans to step into scenes from beloved stories. Additionally, organizers plan screenings, exclusive merchandise, food inspired by on-screen moments, and areas for fans to connect.

Sue Kroll, head of marketing at Amazon MGM Studios, shared her vision for the event in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. She stated, “Audiences today don’t just consume stories—they inhabit them, build communities around them, and carry them far beyond the screen. Obsessed Fest is our invitation to bring that energy into the real world—a space where fandom, storytelling, and genuine connection converge in a way that feels immediate, immersive, and unforgettable.”

Ahead of the live event, Prime Video has also released a teaser trailer showcasing first looks at several upcoming YA titles, including ‘Off Campus,’ ‘Elle,’ ‘Sterling Point,’ ‘The Last Sunrise,’ ‘The Love Hypothesis,’ ‘The Devil’s Mouth,’ ‘Maxton Hall’ season 3, ‘Perfectos Mentirosos,’ and ‘Clashing Through the Snow,’ among others.

This new fan event aligns with Prime Video’s existing Prime Book Club program, which focuses on adapting books into screen projects. Obsessed Fest will serve as the first live extension of that initiative, bringing authors, creators, and actors together with fans in person.

This strategic move by Prime Video recognizes that YA fans are highly active online and tend to closely follow shows from the outset. Creating a real-life event around this enthusiasm can foster stronger loyalty and excitement for upcoming releases. However, the success of this initiative will ultimately depend on how well the shows deliver post-promotion.
