Samara Weaving Spotted in Paris Amidst ‘X-Men’ Reboot Excitement
Samara Weaving has had an incredibly busy year, with Paris being her latest destination. The Australian actress returned to her horror roots in a sequel and secured a significant role in Marvel’s rebooted ‘X-Men’ team.
Her year kicked off with ‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come,’ which premiered at SXSW on March 13 and hit theaters on March 20. The film grossed $42.9 million worldwide against a $14 million budget and later topped Hulu’s overall streaming chart.
Then came the news that elevated her profile. According to Deadline, Samara Weaving was cast as Emma Frost in the upcoming MCU ‘X-Men’ movie after director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige met with numerous candidates. This role reportedly underwent the most extensive search of any in the cast.
Now, she has fans buzzing again with a more relaxed moment. Cinethology on X shared photos of Weaving strolling through Paris, dressed in a gray fitted T-shirt, loose black trousers, and a green cap, while carrying a brown shoulder bag. These photos appear to be from a series of sightings on Saturday, coinciding with a gossip site’s roundup of her outings in the city.

The timing aligns with fashion season. Paris Fashion Week’s womenswear spring/summer 2027 shows are running from Sept. 28 to Oct. 6, attracting numerous celebrities attending various events. Weaving has a history with this event, having attended Louis Vuitton’s show in 2021 and 2022, as well as Bulgari’s collection launch in 2024.
Reports indicate that her public appearances are rare, making any new sighting noteworthy. Commenters on the photo roundup have already linked her casual outing to her new role, with one remarking that the Emma Frost casting feels just right.

In the sequel, Weaving reprises her role as Grace, who must protect her estranged sister while being pursued by five elite families. The cast includes Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Elijah Wood. Although it earned less than the original film, which made $57.6 million worldwide, it found a second life on streaming after its digital release on May 5.

This success builds on a career that has heavily leaned into horror. Weaving’s credits include ‘The Babysitter,’ ‘Scream VI,’ and ‘Over Your Dead Body,’ making her a well-known figure among horror fans. Her transition to Marvel represents a significant shift in scale.
Weaving confirmed her casting onstage at D23 alongside Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. She wore a white Vivienne Westwood minidress that paid homage to Emma Frost’s icy aesthetic, complemented by a diamond tennis necklace.
Since then, she has embraced the role, sharing Instagram photos of herself reading Emma Frost comics, including her solo series and the Hellfire Gala stories, with a caption advising fans not to read too much into it. This has only intensified speculation about the potential significance of the Hellfire Club.
The ‘X-Men’ movie is set to premiere on May 5, 2028, leaving ample time for more teasers. For now, a casual stroll through Paris is enough to keep her in the spotlight.
Weaving’s fashion moments also enhance her visibility to audiences beyond the horror genre. She has quickly transitioned from a cult favorite to the face of one of Marvel’s most iconic characters.
