Scott Snyder and Jock Team Up for ‘Absolute Joker’ Special in ‘Absolute Batman’ #14
Scott Snyder, the writer of “Absolute Batman,” has announced an upcoming special issue focusing on the Joker, created in collaboration with Jock. This special is set to be part of the main “Absolute Batman” series, specifically in issue #14.
In a recent interview on the Casually Comics YouTube channel, Snyder shared:
“We are gonna do a couple special issues that set up Joker too. We are doing an Arkham issue in the fall and then we are gonna do a Joker Special too sometime. Really early 2026, maybe even late 2025 depending on how quickly it gets done. But I am working on it with Jock. It’s gonna be cool!”
This indicates that the Joker Special is not a separate one-shot but will be integrated into the ongoing storyline of “Absolute Batman.”
Jock, known for his distinctive art style and previous collaborations with Snyder on titles like “Batman: The Black Mirror,” brings a unique visual flair to the project.
Their partnership is anticipated to deliver a compelling and visually striking portrayal of the Joker within the “Absolute Batman” universe.
The “Absolute Batman” series, launched in October 2024 as part of DC Comics’ “All In” initiative, reimagines Bruce Wayne as a 24-year-old civil engineer who becomes Batman to combat crime in Gotham City. The series has been noted for its fresh take on the character and its exploration of contemporary issues.
Fans can look forward to the Joker Special in “Absolute Batman” #14, expected to release in late 2025 or early 2026, depending on the production timeline.
