‘Scream’ Star Hayden Panettiere Alleges Oscar Winner Exposed Himself at Age 19

Hayden Panettiere has made serious allegations regarding an incident that occurred when she was just 19 years old. These claims are detailed in her new memoir, “This Is Me: A Reckoning,” as reported by People magazine, which reviewed excerpts from the book.

In the memoir, the “Nashville” and “Scream” actress recounts attending a private party at an apartment where she found herself among a group of men. Feeling uncomfortable, she decided to leave the gathering.

As she was putting on her coat, Panettiere describes how one man approached her, claiming something was wrong with his clothing. She wrote, “I looked down and recoiled,” adding, “This well-respected, award-winning actor’s testicles were hanging out from his unzipped fly.” The identity of this man remains undisclosed in the book.

Panettiere elaborated on her shock in that moment, stating, “It hadn’t hurt me and I was sure it was a drunken joke, but I’d never seen a grown man do something like that. I was shocked.” Although she was with a friend at the time, she chose not to report the incident immediately.

Panettiere also mentioned that she attempted to move past the incident by rationalizing it as inappropriate behavior from older men rather than something more serious. Her account was initially summarized by People, which first reported the excerpt.

In another part of her memoir, she recounts a separate uncomfortable experience during a trip to France. She describes being on a yacht where a friend introduced her to a “famous thirtysomething British singer-songwriter.” Encouraged to get into bed with him, she quickly left the situation.
