Shueisha Games Reveals Sky-Based Survival Game ATMOSFAR for PC

A new co-op survival game called ATMOSFAR is on the way, and it’s all about floating islands, flying machines, and teaming up with friends in the sky. The game was just announced by publisher Shueisha Games and developer Apog Labs. It’s planned to launch on PC through Steam in 2026.

According to the game’s Steam page, ATMOSFAR puts players in a world high above the ground, where you explore and survive among floating islands and giant flying creatures. You can play solo or with up to three friends as you scavenge materials, build flying ships, and upgrade a huge mobile airbase called the Cloud Cruiser.

The game’s description says, “Uncover the fate of humanity’s final outpost as you survive and explore a thrilling world of floating islands and soaring beasts.” That pretty much sets the tone for this sky-high adventure.

You’ll get to fly different kinds of ships called Wasps, each with its own style and purpose. There’s one for carrying cargo, one for setting up camp, one for exploring, and one built for combat. These Wasps can be upgraded, customized, and flown alone or in formation with your squad.

The Cloud Cruiser is your main base. It moves slowly but has everything you need to survive. You can decorate it, store fuel, keep your Wasps inside, and fly it across the skies. The game also focuses a lot on crafting. Players can gather scrap, break it down, and use the parts to build or improve tools, fuel, ship parts, and modules.

Customization is a big part of the experience. You can change engines, swap out parts, add paint and decals to your Wasps, and turn the Cloud Cruiser into your own sky-home. Managing resources is also important. Your backpack powers your tools and life support, so you’ll need to keep an eye on fuel and repairs to stay safe.

ATMOSFAR takes place on a strange planet called Tycos, filled with alien creatures and plant life. Players will explore different biomes, each with its own weather and challenges. The weather can shift from calm to dangerous, with jet streams and storms that force you to fly carefully or take shelter.

Shueisha Games and Apog Labs say ATMOSFAR is built around teamwork, exploration, and survival in a constantly moving, open-air world. You can fly together, camp together, and build together as you try to survive in the sky.

The game’s official trailer is out now and gives a first look at its world, ships, and sky-based gameplay. It’s available to wishlist on Steam ahead of its planned 2026 release.
