Hailee Steinfeld has a rich history with late-night television. She first performed on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ in 2017 and returned in 2019 to discuss the Apple TV+ series ‘Dickinson’. In 2020, she showcased her single “I Love You’s” during an at-home edition of the show.

With a career that provides Fallon plenty of material, Steinfeld is an Oscar-nominated actress and singer who rose to fame in ‘True Grit’. Her impressive credits also include the ‘Pitch Perfect’ series, ‘The Edge of Seventeen’, and ‘Bumblebee’. Most recently, she appeared on the show in April 2025 to promote her supernatural horror film ‘Sinners’.

Her latest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’ occurred on Tuesday, September 29, in Episode 2349. During the episode, she engaged in an interview with Fallon and participated in a game segment, with the first images from the night circulating online.

The photos shared online feature Steinfeld in a stunning deep burgundy crushed-velvet top with a high neckline and long sleeves, paired with a dark skirt adorned with beaded fringe. Her long hair was styled in voluminous waves.

In both shots, she is seen smiling, one while standing and another seated in a gray armchair, with the show’s iconic New York skyline backdrop. The moody and romantic color palette perfectly captures the essence of the season.

Her look mirrored her previous appearance on the show. In April 2025, she donned a dark glamour ensemble featuring a long-sleeved, high-necked top reminiscent of the Victorian era, complemented by a wrap skirt with floral lace detailing.

Steinfeld was not the only guest that night. Actor Daniel Kaluuya and baseball player Justin Verlander also joined Fallon for interviews, with Magnus Ferrell serving as the musical guest.

The week’s lineup was quite busy, featuring Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, and musical guest Gracie Abrams the night before. Heavy noted that one of Steinfeld’s fellow guests had connections to her work in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’.

According to Heavy, it was unclear which project Steinfeld intended to promote during her appearance. One possibility is Disney’s animated feature ‘Hexed’, set to hit theaters on November 25.

Steinfeld has mentioned that this project is the first she has worked on since becoming a mother, and it was filmed during and after her pregnancy. She describes the mother-daughter narrative as profoundly meaningful to her.

Her appearance on ‘The Tonight Show’ came during a hectic few days. Steinfeld, who is married to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, traveled to Manhattan for the taping just two days after the Bills-Chargers game.

In her Beau Society newsletter, she shared that she had been facing some challenges recently, including a restless night with her daughter. This serves as a reminder that her polished public moments coexist with a very full personal life.

Steinfeld’s previous visits to the show have often been lighthearted. In 2016, she joined Woody Harrelson to reminisce about the bloopers from ‘The Edge of Seventeen’.

During her April 2025 visit, Fallon congratulated her on her engagement to Allen and showcased a billboard in downtown Buffalo welcoming her to the city, which she said she appreciated.
