Some years in Hollywood are dominated by a single actor, and 2026 is rapidly becoming that year for Zendaya. With a lineup that includes franchise blockbusters, critically acclaimed dramas, and a returning television powerhouse, her schedule exemplifies strategic career planning.

This relentless pace has made her one of the most prominent figures in entertainment this year, with appearances in five different projects within just twelve months. However, the real story lies not only in her prolific work but also in the impressive box office earnings of her films.

Industry experts suggest that Zendaya is on the verge of joining an elite group of actors whose films have collectively surpassed the billion-dollar mark three times in a single year. If ‘Dune: Part Three’ achieves this milestone upon its December release, it will join ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ as her third billion-dollar film of 2026.

‘The Odyssey,’ directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring Zendaya as the goddess Athena, has already grossed over $639.6 million globally just two weeks after its release, positioning it well on its way to the billion-dollar club.

‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ reunites Zendaya with her real-life partner Tom Holland, and tracking indicates it could have one of the biggest openings of the year, following the staggering $1.9 billion global success of ‘No Way Home.’

‘Dune: Part Three’ remains the wildcard in this equation. The franchise has demonstrated consistent growth, with the original ‘Dune’ earning $411 million globally, and ‘Dune: Part Two’ nearly doubling that with $715 million. If this trend continues, reaching the billion-dollar mark for the trilogy’s conclusion is a realistic possibility, despite facing tough competition from other major December releases.

The combination of ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘The Odyssey’ has sparked cultural conversations, especially since both films feature Zendaya alongside Holland within weeks of each other. Box office analyst Paul Dergarabedian likened their back-to-back franchise appearances to iconic Hollywood duos like Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall, stating, “I think there’s going to be people bragging about seeing both.”

Achieving all three billion-dollar films would place Zendaya on the brink of a record that has stood for years. The current record for a single actor’s annual box office total belongs to Brie Larson, whose 2019 films ‘Captain Marvel,’ ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ and ‘Just Mercy’ amassed approximately $3.98 billion worldwide.

Zendaya’s 2026 schedule extends beyond these three blockbusters. It also includes ‘The Drama,’ her collaboration with A24 and Robert Pattinson, which has quietly become one of the studio’s significant successes, grossing over $100 million against a modest $28 million budget, along with the eagerly awaited third season of her HBO series ‘Euphoria.’

Zendaya has acknowledged her busy schedule. In an interview with Fandango’s Big Ticket, she expressed, “I hope people don’t get sick of me,” while showing appreciation for her fans who support her various projects across film and television.

She has also been open about her need for a break once the year concludes. In the same interview, Zendaya mentioned her plans to step back from the limelight, stating, “After this, I’m disappearing for a little bit. I’m going into hiding for just a little bit,” before eventually returning to work on projects like the upcoming ‘Shrek 5.’

Whether Zendaya will surpass Larson’s record remains uncertain, but the magnitude of her 2026 output has already established her as one of the year’s most significant box office stories.
